Black Crescent Pack
"It's okay, Sylvia." Xavier consoled his palm lightly patting her back as she wept.
She seemed very disheartened this time around as she wept continually into his arms. He had no idea what to do to help ease the pain. He hated seeing her cry.
From what he knew of Sylvia and what he heard, she was not a weak woman either. But the cruelty of the pack was too much for anyone to handle.
It was simply bullying.
She cried for a very long time. However, she was not the type to blurt out words while crying. She simply sobbed, her shoulders trembling from time to time. Xavier could feel his clothes getting drenched in her tears.
It was after the guests left that he found Sylvia crying in the lounge. Her knees were badly bruised and he was sure it must have hurt a lot. So, he quickly helped her clean the wound.
The pack members were quite harsh that day and Xavier was very tempted to smash Alpha Nolan's face in for being such a prick. Yet, he did not.
He knew how disastrous it would be if he ever went against Nolan. It was against the rules and since he was a pack member, he was under an oath and allegiance. The first was to the pack and the second was the alpha.
He could not betray any otherwise there would be dire consequences. He had a family and they would all have to suffer for his mistakes.
His mother, sister, and his uncle's family. All of them would be in danger because of him.
But, he also did not fancy how they kept treating Sylvia that way. He could not understand what she had done. Even though they were rivals, she had never crossed her bounds. She did not deserve such treatment.
And, he also was unable to understand why she was not fighting back. After all, she was stronger than most of their females. She could fight them back even if she did not attack the alpha.
He questioned her on that whilst he dressed her wound. Except that it had caused her to cry miserably.
"Sylvia, they are all returning." He consoled, "Stop crying, okay? Or, they will find a reason to fight you."
His words finally made Sylvia quieter. She lifted her head and wiped the tears off, giving Xavier a direct look at how worn out and weary she was.
She sniffed a little and muttered, "Thanks, Xavier." She looked in the direction of the door and added, "You should get going. Otherwise, they will oust you for staying here."
Xavier also followed the line of her gaze. He shook his head. "I don't want to leave you here."
Sylvia looked into his worried eyes and a bitter smile appeared at the edge of her lips. "You should go."
Xavier was not convinced. But since she insisted, he stood up and waved as he left. Sylvia's eyes were downcast once more as he left. She thought of what Xavier had asked her earlier.
It was not that she could not find the mean girls. She could beat all three of them together. However, she did not dare to.
One of the perks of being bound to the alpha is by a blood contract. She could not harm them in any way. Otherwise, it would bounce back on her and her pack.
As she sat there watching Xavier leave, other pack members curiously passed by the lounge a few times. They were very curious to understand why she was so close to Xavier. He was also very lenient with her.
It made them wonder if she was his mate.
Amongst the crowd of people, one of them seemed very displeased at the sight. She gritted her teeth and clenched her fists angrily upon seeing their interaction.
Her name was Bianca. She was Xavier's childhood friend(although not exactly a friend). She had known him since childhood and firmly believed she had a chance with him.
But seeing him so close to Sylvia, she could not help but feel a huge sense of crisis. Especially since Sylvia was a very beautiful woman. It would be weird if Xavier did not like her.
As she watched Xavier leave, she returned her gaze to Sylvia. A dark glint flashed last her eyes in a moment. She needed to find a way to get the two of them separated. After pondering on what to do for so long, she finally decided what to do.
With an evil smirk on her face, she walked away, heading to the quarters of the alpha.
From the direction that she was headed, it was clear enough to anyone what her plan was.
