Hazel delivered successfully but she promised to never give any man the opportunity to hurt her ever again. He didn't seem like a wolf of them but he still shattered her life.
Two years later, she reappears in the country without her child. Her objective is to bury the past and start again, give her two years old boy a beautiful life. She also desired to fulfill her mother who had made sacrifices all the way for her to be responsible. Returning to this part of the world where her life had been shattered bit by bit two years ago,she decided to sweep the past under the carpets. From the crown of her head to the sole of her feet, she looked like a different person- A pair of protruding brown eyes fixated on a v-triangle face, with round peach lips and jade nose. She still looked exquisitely ravishing despite having graduated from college for over two years. Her face was all dolled up with make-up,her blonde hair blown in the wind as she alighted from the airplane and walked to go find an airport taxi to convey her home. Her slightly short tight fitting dress complied with the high heels, making her exude a certain level of prominence. Her mind was full at this moment. Too many things have been ruined in the past and fixing them can only be done by fixing herself first. She knew the people who held the power in country F. She had encountered them once and wouldn't want to come across them again so,most likely, everything about her had to change.
Before arriving here, she had gone to the saloon and cut her long dark hair and dyed to a blond. Of course, she used to be naive but as the saying goes- Once bitten, twice shy.
She arrived at her new apartment, looked around and felt that it was just perfect for the kind of life she planned to live. Except that, she was still working to secure a good paying job, every other thing was already in order. She was already tired from the trip so after having dinner, she drifted to sleep.
The next day, she woke up quite late, as the sunlight filtered through the yellow curtains, she squinted and yawned at the same time. Then her phone began to read her daily inspirations aloud.
"I am good this morning.
I am not useless unless i decide to be.
I have a life.
i am not ruined and will never be ruined.
I can always get up and level up with the people who are the best.
i am the best when i say i am. "
This has inspired her over the previous years to not give up on herself. She stood up groggily and picked up the phone and a small smile crept on the corner of her lips. Her little boy, Xavier's photo was there on the lock screen of the phone. There was a wide grin on his face that caused the surreptitious smile on her face just now. She dragged her slender legs off to the bathroom and took a warm bath. she made herself breakfast and finally sat on the sofa to focus on her business for the day. She sent her CVs to several big companies in the past but none of them ever returned any feedback so she had stopped. However, she needed to have a job,at least to take care of herself well so she randomly sent her CV to another big company she saw was having a vacancy. Although, she made a conclusion that if there wasn't a feedback until the next morning, she might have to take jobs online.
After spending the entire morning hoping for a feedback, she decided to forget it and called her mom's phone to speak to Xavier. Zoey,a woman in her middle fifties answered the phone. With some degree of reluctance in her voice, she spoke, "Hello dear," "Hi mom. Mom, please can i chat with Xavier for a bit?" Hazel pleaded.
" You can go a day without hearing from him,ok?" Zoey uttered nonchalantly.
" Come on mom,you won't deny him a chance to speak to me. Afterall, we're almost worlds apart now. " Hazel said. her mother was a very unyielding person and she knew better than anyone else that she needed a lot of coercion to yield to her.
Zoey sighed on the other end of the phone, " It's alright. I'll let Lydia give the phone to him,you stay on hold." Hazel finally giggled. After a while, the call has been switched to video. A tiny voice echoed on the phone, " Mommy!"
" Pretty boy,are you doing fine? are you taking your nap?" Hazel inquired with a hint of indulgence in her voice. the duo chatted for a couple of minutes before the call hung up.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye. Hazel was getting dressed to go for a stroll in the morning after listening to her daily inspirations when she met Casper. He was a tall handsome guy that stayed in the same neighborhood. he handed her a bottle of water seeing that she was thirsty.
"Thank you." Hazel uttered and gulped it down in one go. she looked up and found the guy gawking at her. she raised an eyebrow as she said, " Is everything ok?"
" Sure. sure,do you live around here? pardon my manners, I'm Casper and i was gonna ask if we could be friends... Mind if i know your name?" he asked politely.
Hazel sized him up one last time and shrugged. " Casper, I'm Hazel and... Yes,i live around here."
Hazel has always been bored on her own and quickly calculated that there was nothing wrong with having just one friend. Perhaps, that's just what she needs to erase her constant reminder of the past.
" Friends?" Casper asked with a cockish grin with an outstretched hand.
" Sure, friends! " Hazel shook his hand casually.
" I've been here for quite a long time now and I've never seen a charming beauty like you anywhere around.." Casper said as they walked slowly.
"Moved in recently. How is the neighborhood?I,personally, I've fallen in love with the cozy apartment, it's just beautiful." Hazel smiled.
