Chapter Sixty

Silently descending the staircase, my thoughts stray to my kidnapping, I know Alpha Joe, and everyone else is going to want to know what happened but I haven't got a clue what to tell them. I suppose I could possibly inform them that they think Scott is a royal, after all he is in danger now. But no one seems to know about me or my siblings as of yet, but it could change at any moment. The only way I can see keeping Scott and my siblings safe is to run, I don't want to do that to them though as they are finally settled and happy. Could I lead our pursuers in another direction? There is a test for confirming if you are part of the royal line involving blood and one that I have been tested on in the past to ensure that I could manipulate the results through magic if necessary. However, if they were to do a DNA test, it would make things a lot harder.

Pushing my way through the kitchen door I let the familiar breakfast routing takeover to give myself some form of calm to work through my thoughts. It is not until I am putting the finishing touches to the breakfast banquet that I stop and find the kitchen staff staring at me dumbstruck, frowning at them I try to work out what has gotten into them, they know I always muck in.

"Where is she?" Joe says exasperatedly his voice travelling through the door clearly from the dining hall. Someone must tell him as he storms in only moments later with a stern face as his gaze locks onto me. "Jennifer. What the fuck do you think you are doing? You are meant to be resting." Looking around the kitchen helplessly I slightly shrug.

"Breakfast?" Growling at me with concern he goes to say something but is stopped with the appearance of Sarah.

"Darling. Come on. Let us get all of this out there for the pack so it is not wasted. We can then all talk calmly after. I am sure we have a lot to discuss with everything that has been and is going on." Rubbing his hand down his face he sighs before strolling over to me and placing his hands on my shoulders.

"I know you are strong but please for me, for all of us please look after yourself."

"Sorry" I mutter feeling slightly uncomfortable, I don't remember the last time someone worried this much about me. He must see my discomfort though as he lets me go, and picks up a couple of plates.

"Right, let's get this all out." Going to grab a tray for myself my hand is gently slapped away by Sarah. "We will get this. You go sit down." Joe sternly tells me having caught Sarah, looking at him in disbelief.

"Let him do this. He has been worried about you. They all have." Sarah informs me, guiding me out of the kitchen and to my usual seat.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to make everyone worry about me."

"I know you didn't sweetheart." She gently squeezes my shoulder before sitting in her place. Not long after the last plate has been brought out a stampede of footsteps comes towards us and I turn just in time to catch Scott and my siblings launching themselves at me followed by the rest of the pups in the pack. Jet, Caspian and Cayden stand just behind them with their gazes locked onto us, though Daniel keeps giving his brother weird glances before sniggering.

"Smells nice doesn't he" I whisper in Danny's ear when he approaches me for a hug. He looks at me frowning slightly before it clicks and he cracks up laughing on the floor. Pausing he looks at me and I wink at him sending him back into a fit of giggles. Caspian stares at him in utter disbelief before his gaze travels to me, frowning he tilts his head.

"You?!" He roars gathering everyone's attention. "You're the one who made me smell like-" he gestures himself too embarrassed to say flowery and I grin. "What the fuck were you thinking?"

"I was thinking that I didn't want a peeping tom in my shower." His mouth gapes open as Cayden and Jet growl at him, frowning I quickly make my face neutral again. "Plus, Blaze didn't mind in the slightest. In fact, he encouraged it."

"Wait, Blaze. My wolf followed you into the damn shower?"

"Yep," I say popping my P as I try to keep my composure and not laugh, which isn't an easy task with everyone laughing around us.

"Why would he do that? He hates water."

"Why the hell are you asking me and not your wolf? All I know is he followed me in." I say aggravated and confused.

"Blaze isn't talking to me." He tells me scratching the back of his neck.

"Seriously." I sigh "Blaze, you damn wolf you can talk to him but no details." Turning away from him I look at the pups. "All right you lot, get to your seats and start your breakfast."

"I swear that pup is after my spot in the pack," Joe grumbles to Sarah when I tell everyone else to get started.
