Chapter 23

Quirrell's secret

"Now Mr. Potter. Hand over the stone before I lose my patience." Quirrel said threateningly.

Harry was still kneeling on top of the remains of the mirror. He picked up the stone with his back turned to Quirrell and with a quick motion, he stored the stone in one of his dimensional pockets while taking out the fake one he had prepared.

The replica was made months ago. He was very familiar with the design of the stone after reading both Hagrid and Snape's memories. He made a detailed drawing and sent Lorry to commission the replica. It was not cheap. Even tho it was a replica, the stone was masterfully crafted, and powerful enchants were weaved into it, to make it look like a real ancient magical artifact.

The plan was initially to steal the real one and leave the fake. Even to someone like Dumbledore, it would have taken him some time to realize the deceit. Or even better, the thief who was after the stone would succeed in stealing the replica.

He did not expect Quirrell to grow desperate and make a move this early. Forcing him to change his plans.

He turned around to face Quirrel while holding the fake stone.

Quirrel smiled and his eyes glowed in intense yellow light.

"YES, give the stone to me and I promise I won't hurt you."

"You really think the stone is going to cure you?" Harry asked, and was amused by Quirrell's surprised expression.

"W-what?. What do you know about my condition!" Quirrell demanded.

"You are a vampire, obviously." Quirrel eyes shoot wide open and Harry continued.

"Pale white skin, afraid of light, yellow eyes…It was hard not to notice. And as I said, the stone won't cure you because there is no cure for vampirism."

"SHUT UP. What do you know? you are just a first year. That is a legendary magical artifact beyond your comprehension. If there is anything that can cure me is that. Now, this is your last chance Potter. Hand it over NOW" Quirrel yelled and pointed his want to Harry while getting closer.

Harry just gave him a smile. "As you wish" He then slammed the stone one the floor as hard as he could.

Quirrel started to run and yelled. "NOOOOOO!"

When the stone hit the hard floor, it broke into dozens of small pieces.

Quirrell stopped for a moment, looking at the remains of the philosopher stone.

He then looked at Harry. His face was completely contorted with rage. His eyes shone in yellow light.

"YOU!. I am going to kill you, POTTER!" He raised his wand and started to cast a spell that emited a red light.

But harry was quicker and silently cast Avifors onto the remains of the mirror. It was a first-year transfiguration to turn small objects into birds.

The birds got in front of Harry and intercepted the blood-boiling curse Quirrel just cast at him and moved forward to attack him.

"You think you can fight me with first-year spells, boy?" Quirrell gave him a smirk and then used a finite incantatem to return the birds back to pieces of glass.

"First-year spells are enough to deal with a third-class wizard like you Quirrel." He taunted.

Quirrell moved to cast another curse at Harry.

"CRUC-." But was interrupted by a very bright light that blinded him and hurt his eyes.

" Verdimillious Tria" He cast it out loud to maximize the potency of the spell.

An extremely bright light shot out of his wand and traveled towards Quirrell. This spell is used as a distraction in duels, but again someone like a vampire who is sensitive to light is a lot more effective.

"Ahhhgg" Quirrell screamed in pain and covered his eyes.

Harry did not stop there and used a Flipendo to knock him back. Quirrel flew several meters in the air and crashed hard against the wall, losing his wand in the process.

Quirrell stood up quickly. He was hurt and still could not see properly, but he could still make use of his enhanced senses to tell where Harry was.

"What the hell was that?. That was too strong to be just a knockback jinx." Quirrell was getting worried, but he was also trying to gain time in order to recover more of his vision.

Harry didn't bother to converse with Quirrell and instead made a cutting motion with his wand. Quirrel barely managed to avoid the cutting curse that left a big gash on the wall.

Quirrell made his nails grow in size and become something more resemblance to claws. He then ran towards Harry and decided to rip him to pieces using his superior strength rather than waste time looking for his wand.

"DIE!" Quirrell yelled while charging toward Harry.

Harry didn't wait for Quirrel to approach further and used a silent levitating charm on his clothes to lift him up in the air.

Quirrel stopped his advance as was lifted in the air like a feather. He could only struggle by moving his limbs around.

"LET ME GOOO. ARGGGG!"

Harry looked at Quirrell, his eyes started to shine brightly as he focus his magic on his next spell.

Quirrell started to panic now.

"Wait, wait!, please if you let m-"

Harry didn't waste a second. He moved his wand to his left and then made a cutting motion while saying "Diffindo!"

When Quirrell's body hit the ground, his body stood in place, not moving, while his head rolled to one side of the room.
