Chapter 70: Aftermath

During the second year, Harry had to push his body to its limit, and now, Harry was, for the first time, pushing his magic to its limits.

According to the book on druid magic that Luna gifted him last year, this Formation was meant for at least six people. And He was performing a more powerful modified version by himself.

He could not see much, but could perfectly hear the screams coming from the dementors.

"Well, is time to end this. I hope this works."

He started to chant in old Gaelic. The chains all transformed into pure energy and they all pushed upwards, forming a giant column made of white light that covered the entire village.

Soon, the screams from the dementors stopped and the light of the formation started to disappear.

Once it was all gone, the village of Hogsmeade was left in complete silence. The dark skies from before were gone, and the natural light of the morning sun illuminated the village once more.

But the column of light was not the only gone from sight. The hundreds of dementors that were plaguing the place moments ago were also completely gone and the temperature had returned to normal.

The people in Hogsmeade noticed the sudden change and started to go outside and check the situation.

The death eaters in hiding decided that now was a good time to retreat. They instantly noticed that, whatever that light was, has destroyed their anti-apparition wards. Aurors will be all over the place in a matter of minutes.

Harry has never felt more exhausted. He approached the girls with difficulty and checked that they were fine.

"Lorry" He called.

The elf immediately appeared.

"Master!" Lorry exclaimed in surprise and worry after seeing his master condition.

"I'm fine. I need you to keep an eye on Susan and Hannah until the Aurors or the teachers get here. But don't let anyone see you."

"Yes Master"

The elf used his magic to move Susan and Hannah, who were still sleeping, and placed them in a sitting position against one of the nearby houses.

Harry took Luna in his arms. They need to leave the place before people get here.

They were not supposed to be in Hogsmeade, and Harry had just killed two pureblood wizards using magic that the Ministry will no doubt qualify as 'Dark'.

Harry apparated the both of them to the Hogwarts station. It was the closest place that apparition was allowed by Hogwarts wards. He will still have a long walk to the castle.

He took out his invisibility cloak and expanded it, to cover them both with no difficulty, and started to walk back to the castle while carrying Luna.

By the time He made it to the seventh floor of the castle, Harry was more than ready to pass out.

He knew that it would be impossible to leave Luna at her houseroom without having to give some explanation, and He could not take her to the Hufflepuff houseroom.

After making three passes, the door to the Room of Requirements opened.

Inside it, there was a very fancy-looking bedroom, and a giant fluffy bed in the middle of it.

After placing Luna down, Harry collapsed in the bed and fell asleep.

—------------------------------------------

Right after the column of light disappeared, Dumbledore instructed Minerva and Severus to enter Hogsmeade.

Dumbledore made it through the village, looking around in case anyone needed help.

They soon arrived at the Hogs Head inn.

"Albus, you are late!." Aberforth was carrying a very angry expression.

Dumbledore lowered his head a little bit.

"I'm sorry brother. Someone placed a Formation and we could not enter."

Aberforth face changed to one of surprise.

"A Formation? is that what those chains were for? Do you know who did it?"

"No, we did not see them. But maybe someone else did." Dumbledore said.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but we need to call the Aurors!" McGonagall said, looking a bit exasperated.

"Calm down Minerva. I called them, the moment the floo started working again." Aberforth said.

"Were you attacked by only dementor or was there someone else?." Snape asked.

"Your former friends?" Aberforth spat the words and Snaped flinched.

"Yes, there were a few of those cowards, using unforgivables on defenseless people and laughing."

Dumbledore was looking at his brother like He wanted to say something, but before anyone said anything else, the floo of the Inn activated and revealed several Aurors coming in.

The first one to arrive was the head of the DMLE, Amelia Bones.

"What's the situation?" She asked while looking at the occupants of the room.

"Around a dozen death eaters and hundreds of dementors attacked Hogsmeade. The dementors have disappeared, the death eaters also appear to have run away, but You may wanna check that out." Aberforth spoke.

A middle-aged Auror, who was next to Amelia made a strange face.

"Death eaters?, are you joking? Those guys have all been arrested. I don-"

"Enough!" Amelia commanded.

"I want a full assessment of the situation in Hogsmeade. Get to it!" She then turned to her newest recruit.

"Tonks. Call Saints Mungo and have them send us some healers. We are bound to find people in need of assistance."

"I'm going to check the situation outside too." Said Dumbledore before leaving the inn.

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An hour later, Amelia was recounting the damages.

"We have Twenty-six injured by the use of several curses that includes the Cruciatus, six deaths by dementor kiss, two of them were Hogwarts students. "

McGonagall covered her mouth and Dumbledore's face seem to get paler after hearing those words.

Amelia continued.

"We fund no trace of the dementors. We did find two stunned death eaters. Some of the locals found them hiding during the commotion and managed to subdue them. They were young relatives from dark families with no criminal records. "

After a pause, she continued.

"We also found Lord Nott in full death eater garb, He seems to have been petrified. We sent Him to St. Mungo with an Auror escort. He was found very close to the place where they found my niece and her friend." Amelia frowned at the thought of Susan being attacked by death eaters.

"There was a red stain close by that was confirmed to be blood, but we do not know who it belongs to, yet. That's all for now"

Amelia then looked at Dumbledore with a serious expression.

"I noticed that You did not seem surprised at the sudden appearance of death eaters once more. Is there something you want to tell me, Albus?"

Dumbledore sighed.

"Yes…I believe it is time."
