Chapter 76: Reports and training

Malfoy Manor

A handsome young man was sitting down on a very comfortable-looking leather couch, looking at the man kneeling in front of him with a bored expression.

"Report"

The kneeling man quickly raised his head.

"Yes My Lord. Avery has reported from Norway that the negotiations with the giants are still ongoing but He said that everything is progressing well and that He will have them on our side before the end of the summer."

Voldemort gave a small smile and nodded, indicating his follower to continue.

"The Lestrange brothers are still in Romania trying to recruit the vampires, but He said that their demands are too outlandish. They want high positions in the Ministry and a part of the country as a reward."

Voldemort frowned. He knew the vampires would be hard to convince.

"I'll write down a letter for the Lestrange brothers, later on, to help them in their negociation…Anything else to report?"

"No My Lord," The man said, still kneeling.

Voldemort made a gesture for him to stand. "Very well." He then turned to another man, who was standing up a bit farther away.

"Mcnair"

Walder Mcnair was a lanky man with brown hair and a permanently angry expression. He worked as the executioner of the Ministry.

Mcnair approached Voldemort and kneel in front of Him.

"My Lord."

"Have you found the location of that traitor, Igor Karkaroff?"

"Yes, I have. He is currently working as the Headmaster of Durmstrang Institute."

"mmm, that would be a problem. The location of that school is a complete secret to outsiders. " Voldemort thought out loud.

Mcnair smiled.

"I have good news in that regard then. I have heard that Hogwarts is going to host some big event next year, and some foreign schools are going to attend. One of the is Durmstrang."

Voldemort smiled.

"That is indeed excellent news. I want you to find out everything you can about this event."

Mcnair nodded firmly. Then Voldemort continued with the next topic.

"Have you found out something about Harry Potter?." Voldemort was getting angry solely by mentioning the name.

Harry Potter's mere existence was an issue for him. Everyone seems to believe that his older self was defeated by Potter when He was a mere baby. Whether that was true or not, He did not know. But that was something He needed to rectify. If He wanted to rule with absolute power, there can be no doubt about his abilities.

Mcnair looked at Voldemort for a moment before facing down again.

"Yes, My Lord. My contacts in the Ministry have found out a rumor about Harry Potter staying with the Lovegoods after his muggle relatives passed away."

"The Lovegoods…" Voldemort looked pensive. It was in moments like this that He was grateful for having full access to Lucius' old memories. He had a bit of knowledge about Xenophilius Lovegood.

"Is that the one that writes that ridiculous newspaper?"

"Yes My Lord, the same one. I have His address right here." He took a piece of paper out of his pocket and passed it to his Lord.

After reading it, Voldemort looked at the last man in the room.

"Yaxley"

A man in his late years with white hair approached Voldemort.

"My Lord, how can I serve you?"

Voldemort passed the paper to Him.

"I want you to go to that location. If Harry Potter is there, I want you to bring him alive. You can kill anyone else you find in that house."

Yaxley gave a cruel smile.

"Yes, My Lord"

"Take the Carrow twins with you, they are some of the best curse-breakers we have. That will make your job easier."

Yaxley nodded and left the room smiling.

"Oh, how have I missed a good hunting" The man muttered.

Potter Manor

"You are not making the right wand movement." Harry corrected Hannah while Susan kept firing spells at a training dummy.

"Try again," Harry said.

Hannah concentrated for a moment before firing a knee-reversing hex at the training dummy.

The right leg of the dummy turned backward and it fell down.

"Yikes!" Hannah went a bit paled at the thought of using this against a real person.

"Hey Harry, shouldn't Luna be here already?" Susan asked.

Harry pondered for a moment, Susan was right. It was rare for Luna to be late. He had a bad feeling about this.

"Lorry" He called the elf and this one appeared in a moment.

"Yes, Master?"

"I need you to go check on Luna, and bring her here if she is ready"

"Very well Master." The elf made the motion to pop away…but nothing happened.

Harry saw Lorry frowning and already had an idea of the problem.

"You can't enter their house. Is that right?" Harry stated.

"It seems that way...There is something preventing me to enter. Does Master know the reason?"

Susan and Hannah had noticed that something was wrong, stopped their practice, and approached Harry.

"Did something happen?" Asked Hannah with worry on her face while Susan was also looking at Harry with a serious expression.

"It seems that someone is trying to break into the Lovegoods house and the wards have been activated at full force, preventing anyone from getting inside. Not even Lorry." Harry said.

Both Susan and Hannah gasped.

"Oh no!. We have to call my aunt! Luna is in danger" Susan said.

Harry raised his hands in a placating manner.

"Calm down you two. The security of that house is even stronger than this manor. If anyone is in danger…it would be the attackers. But just in case, ill go check it out. Give your aunt a call if you want." Harry took out his wand and prepared to leave.

"Wait Harry, you can't go alone, it is too dangerous!" Susan exclaimed and Hannah nodded in agreement.

"I'm just going to check the surroundings, nothing more. Once is safe, ill send a message through Lorry. " Harry took out his wand and apparated away.

Susan and Hannah were left dumbfounded in the yard.

"Wait…He knows how to apparate ?" Hannah asked.

"Honestly…at this point, We should not be surprised anymore," Susan said.
