'Ryan, Ryan?'
when I heard someone calling my name, I opened my eyes. It appears to be telepathic communication, but it's felt different. It's the lady's voice that I first heard just before the lich was going to execute me.
What supposedly happened?
I scanned the area without knowing what was going on. The scene in front of me is enough to make me gasp for air. I looked at the space where I had lived before being accepted into the Central Magic Research Institution, my eyes wide. The most startling aspect was how much smaller my body felt. I hurriedly get out of bed and stumbled toward the mirror.
I felt that my breathing was getting faster as I stared at the younger image of myself in the mirror. I confirmed it by touching my skin and face all over.
"Is this time reversal?"
I took another look around the space to confirm that what I was seeing was real. The space was medium in size and satisfactory, with intricate plasterwork covering the walls and high ceilings. Small windows allowed sunlight to enter, bathing the area in a cosy glow. I'm standing close to the window, which has a mirror on it. A medium-sized bed is located in the back of the room. I used to read all types of books from the bookcase in the corner. A wooden table is placed in the side of the bed. A book that I imagined to be a book on complex magic theory is opened on the table. It is exactly how I recalled it. In order to sure the scenario was real, again I peered in the mirror while rubbing my face with my fingers.
'Have you stelled down?'
"You are…. The Orb that Lich mentioned. You are the one who saved me, right? How did you act? What are you, exactly?"
'You inquire far too frequently. But don't worry, I will respond to each one separately. I am amazed that you are doing well. I initially believed that your soul would be trapped in the Pandemonium and unable to awaken. But you did well; you have a strong will and spirit.'
It was uncomfortable to communicate mind to mind. Even though I don't fully comprehend it, I am carefully listening to every single word that she says.
'I am a collection of data from my past and alive self, or you could say I am a memory. You may refer to me as The Orb of the Fallen God, as the lich indicated. Galadriel, the dragon queen, is the name given to me by my people.'
"Dragons? Are they not merely myths and legends?"
Dragons. No magician exists who doesn't know what they implement. They control the entire magical universe and are the mana masters. Their Dragon Breath allegedly had the power to alter the shape of the continent. There are people who believe they were genuine and reigned over the sky, land, and ocean in ancient times, while others claim they are merely stories meant to horrify children.
'They were very real. Ancient dragons once roamed this very earth. However, all of the dragons died in the conflict between the Old Gods and the dragons. Nevertheless, I don't entirely remember it. Your task now is to locate and claim my inheritance, and revive the dragon race.'
As soon as she was done speaking, the contract's terms, which I had almost forgotten owing to the chaos going on, began to come to me. I've digested everything in and now have a lot of questions. Even though the contract's terms were serious, I consented to them because of the emergency. There is no turning back now that the contracts have been made. I might be able to address the issue with my magic circle. Additionally, I need to gather my strength now because a lot is going to happen in the future. For now, I should satisfy my queries.
"What's up with the Old Gods and dragons clashing? Where can I discover your inheritance, by the way?
Additionally, you don't want this frail me participating in the effort to revive the dragon race, right?"
'Don't worry, I'll tell you how to locate my inheritance, and once you do that, you won't need to be concerned about strength.'
'Regarding the conflict, I don't recall it. Half of my memory is sealed inside the inheritance. Since I was defeated in the war, I was left with so little of divine authority. I must thus conserve it. It would be stressful and too much of authority needed to carry all of my recollection. I then encased it in the inheritance.'
'With the power I still possess in this orb, I can only speak with you now. The rest was spent to rescue you and return you in this time. I used every last ounce of authority I had to finish this Time Spell. It was set up for me to utilise in emergency situations; if the lich had managed to grab hold of me, everything would have been over. I lack the strength to fend off a ninth circle lich.'
Galadriel and I keep asking and answering each other's questions for a while like this.
