Second Circle

The issue with swords is resolved, therefore I should concentrate on my Magic Circles now. I felt like a mage at the apex of the first circle as I released the mana within my body. I'm going to make a breakthrough very soon.

I recalled that at the time, I was mostly focused on creating some second circle spells independently utilising the contemporary knowledge I possessed. Additionally, I was modifying the second circle spells that were accessible in this world. It had taken almost a full week to finish them.

Since I already know the spells, with no time to waste, I swiftly assumed the meditative position and started to circulate my mana. Despite my aristocratic background, my past breakthroughs had been plagued with difficulties.

As the seventh son, I had lacked the guidance and support necessary to ensure a successful breakthrough. The construction of my first circle had been a perilous journey, and I had come dangerously close to injuring myself. The creation of my second circle had also been a harrowing experience, as I had nearly destroyed everything, I had worked so hard to build.

But this time, things would be different. I closed my eyes and let the mana flow through me, feeling its power and energy coursing through my veins.

The very air around me seemed to come alive. The trembling of the floor beneath my feet was a testament to the immense power that was gathering. The mana in the surrounding area was drawn to me like a magnet, flowing towards me. I focused my mind and directed the energy towards my first Magic Circle.

In an instant, the Circle was filled with shimmering energy, the mana pulsing with an almost visible force. But I was not done yet. More and more mana began to converge upon me, and I quickly set about forming a second circle.

This was the critical moment. I knew I had to be precise, every incantation, every gesture, every symbol had to be just so.

I began to invoke the spells that I had memorized, feeling the energy within me grow with each step. The formula of the spells was inscribed upon the second Magic Circle, taking shape before my eyes. I felt my body heat up as the mana inside me multiplied and grew, the pressure building inside me to the point where I felt as though I might burst. Then suddenly--

Whoosh!!

"It's done!"

And then, with a triumphant shout, I completed the second circle. The heat dissipated, and I gasped for air as the second circle was complete.

The room was filled with an aura of power, the second Magic Circle pulsing with energy. I smiled in satisfaction, knowing that I had succeeded in harnessing the complete circle within me.

As I closed my eyes and focused, I could feel the power of the mana flowing through me. With a deep breath, I cast the spell to strengthen my body, calling forth the power of the mana within me.

A rush of energy pulsed through my veins, filling me with a sense of invincibility. I could feel my muscles bulging as I flexed my palms open and shut, testing their strength.

Thud-thud-thud…

But just as I was about to try out a couple more spells, I heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps outside my door. My heart skipped a beat as I quickly surveyed the room, taking in the chaos that had erupted in the wake of my breakthrough. Books were scattered across the floor, furniture was overturned, and the air was thick with the scent of magic.

I knew who was about to come, and I didn't have much time. I closed my eyes, focusing my energy on controlling my mana signature.

I had to make sure that I appeared to be a 1st Circle mage, someone with limited abilities. I quickly made preparations and changed my look to a pained and depressing one.

The door swung open to reveal a maid standing before me. Her piercing eyes scanned the room with a practiced ease, taking in every detail with a critical eye. But as her gaze settled on me, her eyes were filled with disdain.

But just as quickly as it appeared, the disdain was gone, replaced by a look of concern and compassion. The maid's eyes softened, and I could see the concern written all over her face. She looked at me as if I was a loved one who had just been hurt, but I knew what she was.

"Oh dear!! Ryan-sama, what happened here? Are you alright?"
