Fall from grace

As Keal's breathing evened out, he turned to Lisa and offered a small smile. "This time, you have brought me good news," he said, his gratitude clear in his voice. "I shall have to increase your reward for your efforts."

Lisa's face lit up with delight. "It is my pleasure to serve you, young master Keal," she replied, her voice filled with sincerity.

With the knowledge that one of their enemies had been taken care of, Keal felt a sense of relief wash over him.

"There is no need for us to continue spying on him," he said thoughtfully. "He is already doomed. Our focus should shift to others."

"Very well," Lisa said, nodding in agreement. "Shall we increase the surveillance on the sixth young master then?"

Keal smiled faintly. "Yes," he said. "Let us do just that."

"Would it be alright for me to completely cease spying on him?" Lisa inquired, hoping to free up some of her resources for other tasks.

Keal chuckled softly at her question. "I don't see why not," he replied, leaning back on the bed.

"At the beginning his impressive abilities in literacy and other intellectual pursuits had me on edge. But as time went on, it became clear that he's just another 'commoner' with little to offer."

A sense of relief washed over Lisa as she realized she could finally move on from monitoring this particular individual. Keal's astuteness had once again proven invaluable.

"Then, with your permission, I will take my leave," Lisa said with a respectful bow, turning to depart the room.

But just as she reached the door, Keal stopped her with a sly grin on his face. "Wait," he said, his tone mischievous. "You mentioned that he was afraid of the looks I gave him, didn't you?"

Lisa nodded, unsure where Keal was going with this.

In the hallowed halls of Wishmyth mansion, whispers carried like a gust of wind, and news of Ryan's failure and his foray into swordsmanship spread like wildfire.

Within a matter of weeks, almost everyone in the mansion had caught wind of the young man's fall from grace.

The once-promising prospect was now a mere shadow of his former self, and the mansion's elite took pleasure in exchanging hushed conversations about Ryan's newfound "interest" in the sword.

As the days turned into weeks, the whispers only grew louder, and it became clear that Ryan's reputation had taken a considerable hit.

He was no longer the rising star that many had anticipated, but rather, he was now viewed as a cautionary tale, a warning of what could happen when one is outstripped of their capabilities.
