Jasper Milton realized what he had done and pulled his hands back.
This brought back memories of alienation and conceit, and with them the forgotten bitterness and cold.
"There is one thing that I haven't figured out. I hope you can tell me the truth," Jasper asked seriously.
Stella Grace smiled tightly, "I read a book once. Apparently in our whole lifetime, we would have done three things we regretted, and three things that we are proud of. Learn to let go and stop being so stubborn. I have to go and check on your sister now. She just gave birth to a baby, I need to examine her properly."
Stella turned around.
"Am I the reason you left the Inspection Institute and Sun City?" Jasper asked.
Stella stopped and turned back towards him, her eyes full of confidence and maturity. "I left because I wanted to be responsible for myself. It had nothing to do with anyone. Stop worrying about it, Chief."
Jasper's gaze darkened.
