After collecting the sword, armor, and bracelet from Joe I went straight to the warrior guild to speak with Hoger regarding the decision I has made.
I went to the Warrior guild and went straight to Hoger's office and was about to knock when the door opened and Kamran came out from the office.
He smiled at me and moved aside for me to go in. Hoger smiled and noted his head and gestured for me to sit on the chair in front of him. I sat on the chair and was wondering how I am going to say the decision I made.
"So, you changed your class to the swordsman now," Hoger said to me with a smile on his face. I know that Joe would have told him my decision about this when I asked him for a sword and shield.
I also know he would be happy about it as I will be able to get trained easily under his guidance. Jack was also very good at combat and scouting.
"So, why do you want to see me, Allen? Are you here for your next training?" Hoger asked me looking straight into my eyes. I was just about to talk about it but didn't know how to start.
"I don't want to continue my training in Warrior Guild uncle," I said to him straight in the face. He was surprised to hear it, but he suppressed it immediately and looked at me and said "What are you going to do without the training son?"
"Everything I needed to become a warrior is already provided to me by the guild. I'd intended to continue my journey alone from now." I said to him with an expressionless face.
"I don't think it is a wise decision, Allen. You still have a lot to learn and strengthen yourself." Hoger said to me.
"If you want, I can prove this decision is correct, however, you want me to prove it to you," I told him. He knows that once I made a decision, I will not listen to any reason to revert from it.
"What will you do? You can't go back to the military or join other guilds as there is only one other guild in this city and it is not good for you." Hoger said to me.
"There is another guild in the city?" I was surprised to know that as I didn't know of any other guild in the city.
"It is a Soldier guild that only takes in seasoned soldiers who have completed their 4 years of mandatory service. And you know you didn't complete it," he said.
I already knew I can't join any other guild since I'm still in the private stage and was not surprised to know that. I made this decision because I want to fight alone and get strong without anyone's help.
"I know I can't join any guild in my current stage uncle. I am not going to join any guild until I become strong enough." I said to Hoger. He knew I will not change my decision once I took it firmly, so he didn't want to continue this topic.
"Okay. If that's the case, I want you to become a Freelancer for the guilds. You will not be a member, but can get resources for finishing the jobs provided by the guilds." said Hoger.
"Freelance?" I was confused as I never knew there is an option to be a freelancer in the guilds. "What type of jobs and resources will I get if I agree to be a freelancer for the guilds?" I asked him so I could know its privileges.
"You will not be the guild's full-fledged member. But you will get every job that the guild has. You will get 50% lesser resources than its members." Hoger said. I know he wanted me to accept this offer as it is provided only to a very few people and not to everyone who leaves the guild.
`
I didn't want to accept it, but was in a dilemma as it is offered by Hoger who has helped me a lot in the past few weeks. He was one of the few people who were there when I needed someone the most to come out of the trauma of losing my pet. He is also the reason why I have my new pet 'Jack' now.
"I agree to become a freelancer, but will I have the option to accept or reject the jobs given to me by the guild?" I asked him with a straight face.
"Of course, you can. You are not a member of the guild, so we can't force you to do something that you wouldn't like," he said to me with a smile on his face. He was happy that I accepted his offer without any resistance.
I gave him the 'Elite badge' that was given to me. He accepted it and placed it in a box that had a few more similar badges.
"I'm sorry that you have to leave the guild so soon. But thank you for accepting to be a freelancer and help us in the future," he said and opened another box that had a few badges that were in a rectangle shape and blue color.
"This will let others know that you are a freelancer for Warrior guild and will not forbid you from entering the locations we send to complete a job," he said to me as he was taking a badge and handing it to me.
"I don't want to wear this. Can I only wear it during missions and keep it safe when I am not in any?" I asked him while accepting the badge. I didn't want to let others know that I am in a guild.
"Yes, you can. But be careful that you do not lose it as the punishment for losing it is very harsh," he said to me as I pinned the badge on my cloth so I will not be chased out of the guild for trespassing.
I was about to leave when Hoger said "We do have a mission for you right now, if you accept it."
