You're Horrendous

Pharai

I knocked on Lobdell's door as I looked around hoping whoever the mysterious man was did not suddenly appear. When he opened the door he looked at me with a small smile, "Good morning Pharai."

"Good morning Lobdell," I gave him a lopsided grin, "May I come in quickly."

"Of course," he moved out of the way for me, "You're just in time. I made too much breakfast so you can join me."

"Ah great, I'm starving," I forgot momentarily what my mission was as he led me to the dining table and encouraged me to sit down. He plated the food which was a nice English breakfast.

"Oh my manners, what did you come over for before I hijacked you?" he laughed once we started eating.

I quickly chewed then swallowed, "Did you hear anything from my apartment last night?"

He scrunched his nose and thought for a quick second, "No I don't believe so. Did something happen?"

"I think I was sleep walking last night. When I woke up my feet had all these sorts of blisters and my room had sand. Then I've been seeing this strange man now and then. I feel like I'm going crazy," I spoke so fast that by the time I was done I had to take a breath.

Lobdell just looked at me with large eyes and blinked for a few seconds. "Okay," he breathed out, "Maybe it was the tea?"

I shook my head, "it's been happening for a long time but I haven't been paying attention to it. I've been having the same dream over and over again."

"What dream is it if you don't mind me asking?" he pouted and tilted his head to the side.

"I'm always in the Nile and there's, uh," my cheeks flushed a little, "There's a woman who's always bathing."

He raised his eyebrows and chuckled, "my dear friend that is called a wet dream."

I snorted before I laughed, "it's nothing like that. It's always the same and when she looks at me the whole surrounding changes."

"Well it could be because of the anxiety of moving. I know when I got here it took my body a long time to adjust that I had a sort of sleep paralysis for a long time. It felt like I would see things at times from how tired my body was," he shrugged.

That sounded a lot like my situation that I found myself sitting up in my seat, "And how did you solve it?"

"I went to the doctor. They gave me very good pills and advised me on how to sort it out," he smiled. "If you want I could give you the doctors number. He works at the hospital a few minutes away. He'll be able to help you."

"That will help me greatly, thank you so much," I smiled.

We finished up our breakfast and he wrote the doctor's number down for me. When I left his apartment I was too scared to go back to mine but I needed my phone, wallet and car keys.

With a deep breath I ran into my apartment, grabbed my keys, phone and wallet. Just as I was about to leave the apartment I heard the deepest most chilling voice behind me as the same icy chill ran down my spine.

"Do you think you'll get rid of me with some pills?" the cracking of lightening that was meant to be laughter resonated in my ears.

I grabbed the mug from the kitchen counter top and threw it as hard as I could against the man's shirtless chest. "Get a shirt!"

"As if you don't like it," he grinned. I watched the cup shatter against his chest and did not even cut into his skin at all. You would think I threw it against the wall by the sound of it. I was a man of science and I knew there was no way possible for someone to be that physically strong.

"Who the hell are you?" I growled. This time I pulled out my phone and looked at him with a glare, "I'm going to call the police."

"Call them. I told you last time they won't do a thing," he snickered.

I did not even bother to entertain him anymore as I went to dial for the saved number. However the screen started to glitch and with a small scream I dropped the phone to the ground as it almost exploded in my hand.

My breathing became incredibly heavy as I looked at him as fear erupted in my body. I tried to run to the door but the door shut by itself. When I turned around he stood right in front of me that his chest was against mine.

He placed his hands on either side of my face. My body felt frozen once again like the first time I had seen him. "You're so beautiful," he looked at me with an emotion I could not put my finger on as he looked into my eyes.

I prayed Lobdell by some chance could suddenly appear and scare him away, but I knew I was not that lucky. So instead I squeezed my eyes shut and braced for whatever impact that was coming my way.

"Don't you think I'm beautiful Pharai?" I could feel his lips against my ear before he placed a gentle kiss on my cheek. "Tell me I'm beautiful."

"You're horrendous," I spat out.

His laughter filled the room, "Why are you so scared of me?"

"You're a stranger in my house," I yelled, "Did you think I would make you a cup of tea?"

"I was expecting a much warmer welcome," he chuckled before he pouted, "Didn't you miss me?"

I wanted to recoil from him but could not as I looked at his face in complete horror, "I don't know who the hell you are?"

"But you always remember," he frowned. He looked deeply into my eyes as if expecting something but when I looked at him blankly I could feel the temperature of the room change as it got hotter and hotter. "You'll remember me."
