With Alexander's introduction done, it was time for the various lords to step up, and they tried to put their best foot forward, each greeting the Tibian queen in as cordial a manner as possible.

Honestly, this amount of harmony surprised Alexander a bit because he thought the men as a whole would be a bit more reticent.

Adding one more chair to the table always meant dividing the power one more time. And they were certainly not this enthusiastic when he gave a seat to Cambyses.

However, from the other perspective, this and that were different.

In Cambyses's case, they saw it as Alexander openly consolidating his power, the lords made no distinction between the two.

However, Lady Parthia's addition, or more especially someone from Tibias was simply seen as inevitable.
