It would be quite fair to say that Lady Nanazin's father, Matbar (Marquis) Tareeq was a very ambitious man, willing to do anything for his family's success and advancement.

As evidence, when the noble lord was given the chance to have his family become related to the royal family, he did not hesitate for a second to arrange his own daughter, even if it meant letting her get married to a weak, statusless, sickly prince.

And after that, when it suddenly looked like Ptolomy was not going to make it, he was even crazy enough to make his own daughter take part in such a vile act, throwing all thoughts of consequences to the wind, just so that he would claim to have a grandson with royal blood.
