Alexander listened to Lady Nanazin's ask with a slight frown in his heart.

Now, it was not unheard of for very high ranking nobles to gift away mistresses to their retainers in this way- as rewards for a job well done, such as winning wars, putting down rebellions, or even negotiating favorable trade terms.

Sometimes they could be recompensed this way for something as relatively mundane as properly holding an important religious festival.

Whichever reason that might take the lord's fancy- if a nobleman had become bored of one of his mistresses or if the woman had fallen out of favor, it was quite natural for him to gift her away. Sometimes, if he was pleased enough, the noble lord might even give away a favored concubine as a way to show his appreciation.
