Chapter 7 : Spread of Pandemic

Next day it was raining heavily.As Rahul already instructed about it we didn't played in it.We had our breakfast.There are only 3 days left to return to our past.My grandpa took out the watch and was looking into it for a long time."Grandpa, what happened. You look so tensed.Is everything alright?! "I asked grandpa.He answered " Hazel, my child.Look at this carefully.This clock has two buttons. One will take us to the past and one will take us to the future.I don't understand which button indicates what.I asked mona about this.But she cant remember which button she pressed.I was little worried about this as there are only 3 days left."

Rahul was listening to our conversation.He came and sat beside me.He asked grandpa to give him the watch so that he can look at it.He looked into it for a few minutes and looked at my grandpa.He said that he think that the first button indicates past and the second for future.

We all are thinking about this.Then Rahul said "grandpa,I have an idea.We will set the number of years and then set the minimum time to stay there.Even if we enter into the future we will stay there only for a single day.And after that when the clock starts working we will return to our past."

Grandpa liked his idea and he was even impressed.

We had our lunch.Suddenly Rahul came and said that there was a case of covid-19 in our village.We should be very careful from now.He passed some blue colour cloth to us.He said that these are called masks and they are used to cover nose and mouth.They help in preventing the spread of virus. This was a little suffocating,but I got used to it.It became dark, we had our dinner and slept.Today I was waiting for Rahul to give me a good night kiss, then I realised that there is pandemic situation. I am getting a feeling of suffocation, so I decided to remove the mask and sleep.

Next day we got up,cleaned everything, had our breakfast.There is an announcement of the virus, precautions and symptoms were given to people.It was announced that 5 members in our village died within 2 days.Schools,collages were closed, hospitals are filled with patients, many doctors have been effected treating the patients. We were scared to hear this.

It was also announced that due to reduction of transportation and supply of food,increase in price,locust attack and reduced production of crops...there will be a chance of scarcity of food.Every one should use there resources carefully for these days.The day ended very fast.We went to sleep after the dinner.We were waiting for the sun to raise so that we can travel to our past.

The sun rose.We had our breakfast.We were waiting for the clock to work.It became evening.The clock gave a sound of clap.This was the signal to use it again.Accoring to Rahul's idea grandpa set the clock arrow on 30 which indicates number of years and another arrow on 1 which indicates number of days.Grandpa said to press the first button of the clock passing it to Rahul. He pressed the first button as instructed by grandpa.

A great force dragged us with a great speed but this time I was holding Rahul's hand.The light was very bright.I cant keep my eyes open.I was feeling very hot... something is dragging me towards the sun.After a few seconds I felt like something pushed me on the floor.I became unconscious.
