Chapter 18 : Enquiry

I stared at him angrily.Grandma came to Rahul and started to enquire him in the same way as a police enquires a criminal.She asked "what do you do for a living??how much do you earn???who are your parents??where do you stay??Do you drink alcohol??Say something...why are you standing like a pillar....speak out.!!"

Rahul was confused. He was looking at me with a confused expression.He looks so cute.Sam,Reena, Mona and grandpa started giggling.I gave him a smile and nodded my head to boost his confidence.He smiled and said "grandma...I am an engeneer and I am working as a manager in a textile industry.I dont have anyone except Diya and Radha.Keeping everything aside..... I love your grandchild Hazel verymuch.I cannot live happily without her.I dont drink and smoke.Please accept my praposal." Grandma came to me and took my hands and said "Hazel....my dear....do you like him?" I was bit shy and shook my head as yes looking down.She lifted my chin and kissed me on my forehead and ordered grandpa..."tomorrow will be the engagement and within a week we will plan the wedding after showing their stars to an astrologist,if he concludes everything ok."Rahul and i were very happy to listen this.He looked at me with a smile.He gave me a hand shake congratulating me.I was about to shake my hand but grandma came in between and said "no touching until you both are married.Hazel....come with me my dear." Rahul was a little upset with grandmas words.I gave him a smile and went with grandma.

We had our lunch.Rahul and I were sitting in the garden.He was in his thoughts.l know...he was thinking about the industry.Suddenly grandpa came running into garden with a news paper in his hand.He came to Rahul and said "hear you go my child.....there is an article about Veerendra in the news paper.Hope this would help you to know about him." He handed news paper to Rahul and left us alone.He started reading it with full curiocity.Grandma called me into the kitchen.I took Rahul's permission and went inside.

Grandma angrily said "Hazel.....why are you sitting with that man??you are not married with him??maintain some distance with him.Come....now help me in making dal and rice." I was a traditional girl before.But after travelling through time I think I started to think in advanced way.I want to explain grandma about this....but i know she will never understand as she is a traditional women of 90s.So I dont want to complicate this.I said to grandma "ok grandma....as you say..but I was just helping him in his work". Grandma asked me to serve tea to Rahul with a smile.She said " Hazel.....its ok...I may be a women of 90s but my thoughts are advanced. Its ok...you talk to him....only then you will understand him in a better way....now go and serve this tea to him.I was just teasing him to test his patience and obedience towards elders.He is a good guy."I was very happy to hear this words from grandma.I hugged her with joy.And took the glass of tea and walked into the garden.Rahul was leaning to the tree closing his eyes.Listening to my footsteps he opened his eyes.He lend me his hand and took the glass from me and kept it aside.He asked me "why did grandma called you?what did she said....I think she didn't liked me!!" I gave him a smile and said "No Rahul....its nothing like that....she liked you very much.And you know what she said....she asked me to spend some time with you so that we can understand each other very well,she thinks that we have just met as she is not aware that we have travelled through time togeather. She said that a good conversation can solve everything." Rahul was happy when he got to know that grandma liked him.He took the glass to have tea,looking at me he offered it to me.I said that I will have it latter.He said that he feels better when he shares everything with me....starting from the smallest.Listening to this I took his glass and had a sip.He suddenly asked "what did grandma said???" I was confused when he asked all of a sudden.I said "she likes you....." He said "no...not that....conversation....something..!!" Ooh.....that one,she said a good conversation can solve every problem".Listening to this Rahul stood from his place and hugged me and said "thats it...I got it....." I was confused and asked him,what happened.....??He started to explain me everything about Veerendra.
