Understanding Ditto Family

"It seems I still won the bet." Tyler stood in the middle of nearly five hundred Gamma Creatures and spoke with a proud look on his face.

Tim was surrounded by around two hundred Gamma Creatures. Unlike Tyler, he seemed extremely exhausted as well.

"Haaa! Haaa! How the hell are you still not exhausted?" Tim was holding his knees as he was constantly panting.

"I learned a few things during my trials. And, one of them was to never use your full strength when it is not required. You need to learn this especially when you fight against large numbers."

Tyler explained without any hesitation. He didn't even feel any guilt about helping his enemy.

"Haaa! I need a lot of training to learn that. At least, we finished them off. Let's move toward the portal. Once we reach there, I will ask them to open it." Tim slowly raised his upper body and stood straight as he said.

"But, I entered from Holy Sanctum's Portal." Tyler was a bit confused when Tim asked him to follow him to the portal that was going to lead to Ditto Family.

Because Tim just said that he had contacted other people about auctioning the key.

Tim chuckled and said "I am not talking about the portal from my family. Even if I am not from Holy Sanctum, I am still someone respected by other powers. Besides, I knew you wouldn't want to go there, so I called others at the Holy Sanctum."

"That's good. Then, let's move on!" Tyler nodded his head and walked away. Tim quickly followed him as they went toward the portal.

"On the road, we will face a lot of Gamma Creatures. I am a bit exhausted, so shouldn't we rest a bit?" Tim asked.

"While resting is good, it is not needed. Now, the Gamma Creatures aren't gathered in one place, so we can just kill them and move on. Besides you are exhausted, I am not." Tyler shook his head and said.

He wasn't exhausted. Before he was indeed but during the battle, he managed to completely recover his spiritual energy. While his stamina was something that wasn't completely recovered, he still had more than enough to fight the same battle three more times.

Hearing Tyler's words, Tim was depressed. He couldn't refuse it either. He wouldn't be exhausted if he had just not tried to compete with Tyler.

"Hey, Tyler…. Can you Tyler?" Tim hesitated and asked.

"You can." Tyler nodded.

"Why did you choose Holy Sanctum? I mean with your talent, our family would've made a much greater deal than them." Tim asked. He was clueless about Tyler's previous actions.

"I wasn't asked. My talent is only seventh rank. And, besides that, your family sent people to grab me and…." Tyler's eyes turned cold as he turned his head at Tim and continued "I killed them."

Tim paused for a moment. He didn't know how to respond. Normally, the death of those people didn't matter much to him but knowing that Tyler killed them and also was now the target of his family, he didn't know whether to go along with Tyler or make enemies with him.

"Although I know that it was our family who forces people to join us especially when they don't join Holy Sanctum, I can't say it's wrong. If you awaken as a genius, if you get the talent that would only be found in one in a thousand people, you need to hold the responsibility."

"Yes, it is forceful and I don't have anything to say about that. But, if you are just going to waste your talent, then you better take poison and die. That's what my family believes in."

"As for you killing those men, I will try to talk to my family. Just don't try to escalate this anymore." Tim said with a serious expression.

Tyler didn't reply for a moment. He had no understanding of how higher-class families work. All he knew was that they were arrogant and extremely bent on doing whatever they like to do.

But, after seeing Tim, he got another view of this family. While it might be shady and pitch black, there was some level of respect you need to give them for doing what they are doing.

"Tell me something. Have you ever felt competition in your family? Have you ever thought of going against your family's decision?" Tyler asked.

"Of course, I have. My whole life is all about competition. I was born to compete with people who were born nearly ten years earlier than me. As for going against the family's decision, it's not about whether I want to or not."

"It's about whether I can or can not. If I can't then, I would be forced to do whatever my family tells me to do. But, If I can, then I can say 'Fuck off' to anything I don't like."

"It has nothing to do with my morality or my view on those tasks. It's all about strength. That's why I don't want you to escalate this battle. Because you are never going to win against my family." Tim replied.

Hearing his words, Tyler was surprised.

'No wonder, he tried to improve his strength in the middle of a battle. No wonder, he tried to fight against these creatures at night. A person with as much talent as him was only at the thirteenth place, it shouldn't be due to resources alone.'

'That means, he wasn't wrong about that. If you are going to waste your talent, then you better take poison and die. Now, I really wonder if this is the same attitude they show their own children.'

But after thinking for a while, Tyler replied.

"While it is true that I can't fight against your family right now, it doesn't mean I won't be able to fight against them in the future. During the trial, I realized something."

"If you know how to fight, you can fight the entire army by yourself. But, don't worry. I won't try to escalate our conflict. Unless your family starts it."

"But, if your family does, then I will kill until they stop."
