Awake

Carla tossed and turned in her sleep, caught in the grip of a vivid dream. In it, she and Higa were running through a meadow, laughing and playing like they used to do when they were kids. The sun shone, the sky was blue, and the world was perfect. As they ran, they came across a stream, and Higa dared Carla to jump in. Without hesitation, Karla plunged into the cool, clear water, feeling the adrenaline rush as it enveloped her. Higa followed suit, and they splashed and played for what felt like hours. Eventually, they tired themselves out and collapsed onto the grassy bank of the stream, gazing up at the sky as fluffy white clouds drifted lazily overhead. Carla felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over her, and she knew that she never wanted to leave this idyllic paradise. But as she closed her eyes to savor the moment, she appeared in another memory of her and Higa, they were watching the final match of a tournament from the window of Carla's house. The two fighters glared at each other from opposite sides of the ring, each sizing up the other's strengths and weaknesses. Sweat glistened on their muscles, the only sound was the rasping of their breath. Suddenly, the first fighter charged forward, fists balled and ready to strike. The second fighter deftly dodged the attack, ducking and weaving to avoid the flurry of punches. They responded with a swift kick to the first fighter's ribs, sending them staggering backward. But the first fighter wasn't done yet. They regained their footing and launched a fierce counterattack, throwing punches and kicks with incredible speed and precision. The second fighter fought back with equal ferocity, blocking the blows and delivering crushing hits of their own. The two fighters continued to spar, each one determined to come out on top. Sweat flew from their foreheads as they grappled and twisted, trying to gain the upper hand. The crowd cheered and shouted as the fight raged, both fighters pushing themselves to the limit. In the end, it was the second fighter who won. They landed a powerful kick to the first fighter's head, knocking them to the ground and leaving them dazed. The second fighter didn't hesitate, swiftly ending the fight with a final blow to the back. Exhausted, the second fighter raised their fists in victory as the crowd roared and cheered. It had been a hard-fought battle, but in the end, they had emerged victorious. "I could've done better than that!" Higa rolled his eyes. "You can?" Carla tilted her head in surprise. "Of course! I'm super good at fighting! I'm the best in the world see?" Higa threw his arms up, giving a smile of boldness. "And ill be able to protect you and the whole village too! You'll never have to pick up a weapon!" He pats Carla on the head. Carla's father walked into the room declaring it was time for her to work and a jolt shook her awake. Her eyes flew open, and she realized with a sickening sense of dread that she was still in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. The world was cold and gray, and the air was thick with the stench of death. Karla could hear the moans of the undead in the distance, and she knew that she, Angelica, Liam, and Higa needed to keep moving if they wanted to survive. With a heavy heart, Karla rose to her feet looking over at Liam who placed her on a mat on the floor and shook off the remnants of her dream. "Look who's awake" Liam looked over at her with a troubled expression. he wasn't able to find any food at all. They'd been walking around in circles this whole time. "Angelica went to split up so unfortunately I had the "pleasure" of carrying you this whole time." Liam sighed. Carla looked around, trying to see if she can help out. she walked out of the room. Carla had been searching for food in the abandoned military base for hours, but it seemed like every pantry and storage room had been cleaned out. She was starting to feel hopeless until she stumbled upon a door with a rusty lock. She forced it open, revealing a room full of canned goods and non-perishable items. she started to grab as much as she could carry. Her stomach was grumbling with hunger, and she knew she needed to find Liam to help her carry everything back to the rover. Carla quickly Yelled, "Hey, Liam! You won't believe what I found. I finally found a bunch of food in the military base. Can you come to help me carry it back?" Liam's voice was filled with relief as he replied, "Thank goodness, Carla. I was starting to worry. Of course, I'll be there in a sec." Carla smiled to herself, she started to pack up the cans and bags of food, eager to get back to the rover and see Higa again. As she waited for Liam to arrive, Carla sat down and took a deep breath, she heard the sound of a car. it got louder the rover burst through the doors of the base with Angelica as the driver. "Get in!" she yelled, her face visibly horrified. "Where's Higa?!" Liam shouted, throwing the food into the rover and getting in. "He stayed behind!" Angelica yelled back reluctantly."You Left Him Out There With The Hoard Of Zombies Alone!?" Carla began to panic. "He handled a horde before I just thought-" Angelica was cut off by the sight of Carla on the verge of tears. "This is way too many of them! this is 4 Billion zombies from all around Asia! What were you thinking!" Carla shouted running past them and making her way outside alone. she knew she stood no chance, she couldn't even hold a weapon without going crazy, but She didn't want the only person she looked admired to die brutally just like that. She needed to do something, ANYTHING, to help him out. She tripped over the pale body of Neoya, his face was completely caved in and blood was shooting from it like a broken fountain. She was horrified, resisting the urge to vomit right then and there. A few zombies heard her fall and began heading to her, they were within arms reach when one of them was hit by a bat to the face. Angelica jumped out holding the blood-soaked bat. Liam shot the other two in the back of their head before attempting to give Carla a semi-automatic pistol. Carla thought about it for a few seconds, if she were to take the weapon she could help out for once. she doesn't want to be a damsel, especially in a zombie apocalypse. She reached for the gun but a bloody hand grabbed her wrist, it was Higa?!

Narrator: Hey, Blob? I have a question...

Blob: Yeah?

Narrator: Is Higa supposed to actually be self-aware?

Blob: Uhh well I just let that ass hat do whatever he wants, he isn't supposed to be acting like this... he's supposed to be one of those morally good protagonists but now he's a bit...insane

Narrator: Okay....
