Blob had finally finished the latest chapter, he had been doing shitty assignments all month so he never got the chance to but now he had all the time in the world. He pressed the save button on his laptop before hopping out of his chair and stretching. It was already late, but all the hard work had paid off. He could feel a sense of accomplishment as he looked at the finished Word document proudly displayed on his screen. Taking one last glance at it, he shut down his laptop and thought about what to do. He heard a knock on the door as Olive yelled from the other side. "Hey Jay, it's me, Olive. Are you still up?" Jay opened the door to let her in. "why are you here so late? It's way after hours-" Jay was cut off as Olive answered, "I have something to show you." She brought out a paper from her bag and handed it over to Jay. Jay took the paper and read it with surprise; it was an invitation to the National Young Writers' Conference. He had entered her writing in their competition a few weeks prior. "what is this?" Olive asked. "I was reading your newspapers and journals last night and was impressed," Jay replied, "So submitted your writing to the National Young Writers' Conference" Jay patted her back. Olive couldn't believe her ears, a famous writer? Impressed by her writing? Impossible…right? "So, are you going?" Jay asked, stretching his back. Olive nodded her head in disbelief, "Yes of course," she whispered, running into the bathroom and slamming the door. Jay tilted his head in confusion. He had no idea that his little gesture would bring such joy to Olive. Jay quickly opened his laptop and searched for flights to the conference location in New York He found a couple of tickets that were a bit expensive but booked them anyway for Olive and whoever she decided to bring. he was a judge there but that didn't mean she had to be biased. He walked over to his laptop and saw a message from…Aki? it was a rather long email too. "What's this?" Jay mumbled to himself as he clicked it open.

"Dear Mr.Blob

We've been way too out of touch. Things have been insane

and it sucks that we don't talk much. I was just so busy with everything and I'm sure you were too. but I heard about the conference you're attending and thought it would be amazing if we both went together! I know you're booked but if you can somehow make it work, it would mean the world to me.

Let me know what you think,

Aki"

Jay tilted his head, He hadn't expected Aki to contact him this late but it was convenient that she had. Jay quickly replied, offering her the extra ticket he had bought for Olive and telling her that it would be great if they could go together. Before long, Maddie and Jay were on a plane together and Aki, Olive, and Chris were on another plane.
