Eve's POV. Part 2.
I was already to have a beautiful, quiet and very enjoyable evening night put with my husband ending in some very much needed sex between the two of us.
However, we were interrupted by the sound and sight of a large explosion out towards the city.
"BOOOM!"
"What was that!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. Being scared senseless from the explosion.
Zach reacted differently and immediately jumped up and threw his body over me, trying to cover me from an unknown attack.
"It's ok. I am here, don't worry." Zach said softly while still holding me.
Even through the chaos of the explosion and confusion of what was going on it was still very heartwarming to know that he would always protect me, in times of crisis.
Even in the worst of times he never eased to surprise me.
"We need to get out of here. We need to get home, somewhere safe!" Zach yelled snapping me out of my thoughts.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me back towards the car leaving the blanket and picnic basket where they were.
As we were running back to the car more explosions resounded through the night, making it seem that the lovely city that was my home had become a warzone.
"BOOOM!"
"KA-BOOOM!"
"Hurry! Don't look back just keep running! Everything is going to be ok!" Zach yelled from ahead of me.
He was still holding my hand dragging me back to the car.
In no time at all we made it back to the car Cain was already there, not in a panic but visibly nervous.
"Madam hurry into the car we need to leave." Cain said in a hurry.
Without waiting for my response Cain opened the door and Zach threw me in, but not in a mean or harmful way. He was still being gentle.
'Gahh why is he so adorable! squeee!' I thought to myself.
It was completely inappropriate and definitely uncalled for given our current circumstances. I smacked my cheeks causing them to go red, however it did the trick and snapped me out of my inappropriate thoughts. So, I could focus on the problem at hand.
"You, okay?" Zach asked as he stared down at me with a weird expression on his face. He must have seen me smack my cheeks and thought I was losing it.
"Yep, I am fine. We need to get to safety though, right?" I said trying to change the subject.
"That's correct we need to move now. Cain follow behind in your car as best as you can." Zach said taking command of the situation.
"Roger Sir."
With that Zach drove the car I was in, and Cain followed close behind as we made our way down the mountain pass.
We needed to get to safety.
****
A little earlier at the time of the first explosion. The location was none other than a children's hospital.
St. Mary's Childrens Hospital.
Unfortunately, there were casualties, the authorities and fire department were able to quickly respond and put the fire out however not everyone was so lucky.
The worst part was that the perpetrators still didn't make themselves known nor did they make any demands. Leading to everyone becoming even more terrified when more explosions went off soon after.
Taking even more innocent lives.
