Jennet snickered at him, losing her interest. “Why should I recall it? If I forget it, then, it means it is something not worth remembering. I am sorry about that,” she gave him a sinister chuckle, not feeling sorry at all.

Hue gasped at the cold answer from her. He thought she would be happy, and he thought she would be nice to him after pledging the sacred vow that tied them. But, who knew she was so carefree and even not interested in it? His heart has broken in two as the reality that he hoped to see was gone.

Jennet squirmed, entangling herself from his hands that perched on her shoulders. Eyeing him, who was neither sad nor angry, she spoke, “I am sorry to say this because I want you to forget the whatever-that-vow-is-about. I must have lost my mind, and I must have been saying something stupid. Do not take it personally, okay?” Her face beamed as she said it.
