Chapter 82

Jennet felt her eyes watered when her heart was tinged by an unknown sadness. His words brought familiarity to her which made her feel sadder. The sadness she had in her heart, felt like a longing that she couldn't understand. She had no idea why such longing resurfaced or why she even had such longing in the first place.

Jennet wiped his forehead with a towel. "Hue, stay with me. Don't give in to the pain," she said softly. Then, she helped him to his feet and supported him into one of the guest rooms.

When he was finally on the bed, he cried, "I'm sorry..." His breathed heavily and his face turned redder. His condition seemed to worsen by each minutes passed.

Jennet sat beside him and wiped his arms and legs. Seeing him lying uncomfortably in his sweat-drenched shirt, she unbuttoned it. But, she was perturbed to see a few long red whip marks on his chest. It looked painful!
