Grandpa Ingell had no idea about the agreement that led to the engagement between Jennet Lockhart and Anderson Hanvel. He thought, Lloyd gave out the approval, but his son had no recollection of it and the papers were signed without the presence of any of the Lockhart direct family members as the papers were signed by the head of the Chester family and the head of the Hanvel family.

Mr Hanvel inhaled deeply, getting uneasy. That can't be the reason, he thought. "But, the head of Chester's family gave us the approval, and Lady Jennet and my son are legally engaged. I still hold the agreement papers and I'm sure the Chester holds one too," he said, trying to pound senses into the old man's head. He wanted to find an escape plan from breaking the engagement as he had waited for years to have a firm connection with the Lockhart esteem family because whoever managed to be a part of their family would gain power, and he wanted the same thing.
