The Return

Ruth was done cooking, she prepared fried rice and chicken and served me and the boys. The aroma of the food was lovely. She has always been a good cook, and that was one of the many things I loved about her, and I was beginning to think she prepared a wonderful meal to buy my heart again.

And the fact I couldn't get my eyes off her because she was looking more beautiful than ever almost made it easy for me to say, "hey, you know what, let's keep dating."

Igniting our love once more would be nice but for some reason, all the things from the past about her and what she put me through began to fill my head, mind and heart with excuses to tell her to leave my house, but how would I bring myself to that point to chase someone I once loved.

"Don't worry boys, I didn't poison the food," said Ruth, when she noticed we were hesitant to start eating.
