General Mu Returns With the News of Impending War 2

As soon as General Mu finished his last sentence, the hall exploded with excitement.

Elder Jin said excitedly, unable to believe his ears. 

"Brother Mu are you really telling the truth?"

"You and sister-in-law...you are both going to become Nascent Soul ?"

"How could you guys be so fast? "

"I just broke through to the peak of Golden Core Stage two years ago and you are already becoming Nascent Soul."

Seeing this, Elder Hao, who is an expert in formation and also one of the peak Golden Core Stage elder among the Mu brothers stood up and reminded him,

"Brother Jin. Why are you questioning Brother Mu?

" Brother Mu is the most talented person of the Qin empire in our generation, isn't it normal for him to surpass us in terms of cultivation?"

"Now that we have already stepped into the peak of Golden Core realm for many years, it's normal for him to have a breakthrough before us."

"We should all celebrate this."

Elder Gu also chimed in with a meaning full smile,

"Brother Jin do you really want Brother Mu to wait until you reach the three sold for Nascent Soul?"

Elder Jin also felt that he seems to be doubting General Mu, thus he felt a little awkward.

He scratched his head and said with a guilty expression

"Brother Mu I didn't mean that. I was just too excited and blunt out."

General Mu knows that among his brothers Elder Jin is the most simple minded and said with smile,

"Brother Jin , Brother Hao just wanted to tease you. We know you didn't mean that."

Hearing that he had been teased by Elder Hao, Elder Jin glared at him with frustration.

"Humph, Consider me it letting you guys go for such a happy occasion."

Elder Guan instantly retorted, "Humph...You talk like you can defeat us easily."

Elder Hao also sang along him, "Brother Guan, how about I trap this old bull in my recently acquired formation for a week."

Elder Jin disliked it most when his brothers call him old bull, he was instantly displeased.

"Hey old Hao, who are you calling Old Bull?"

Other Elders looked excitedly while these three argued.

General Mu looked at the hall which was gloomy a moment ago and is now everyone has forgotten why they are here.

He felt helpless ,especially these three bickering people, they are like water and fire. 

They are the closest among his brothers, but once they gathered it would be good if they didn't fight for a round.

Thus he raised his voice to stop them. 

"Okay. Brothers all of you stop arguing."

"I have decided."

"Brother Guan, Brother Hao and I each will lead a thousand strongman from the Vermilion Bird cavalry and a hundred thousand normal solider to the Wind Valley next week to defend against the Zhou Empire."

"As long as I don't ask anyone for help, you all should cultivate properly in you respective states and strive for a breakthrough to the next realm."

"I will go and inform the Emperor about this matter."

"Brother Jin, you stay in the Mu Mansion and protect Tian'er from the dark."

"Last time, the assassin was killed by a mysterious elder and nothing happened to Tian'er."

"I'm afraid, they will try again. Especially when we aren't around."

When Elder Jin heard that General Mu only wanted to bring Elder Guan and Elder Hao with him, he wanted to protest.

But when he heard the later half, he become serious.

Although they had already killed most of the devil cultivator inside the Imperial city, he still felt hatred when he remembered that those devil cultivator wanted to kill his nephew.

Thus he immediately agreed to stay.

"Brother Mu, Don't worry. Even if that wrenched Emperor himself come, I won't let him touch a hair of Tian'er."

General Mu nodded at Elder Mu then he changed the topic with a smile.

"Okay lets put an end on this matter. I have another happy news to announce."

" I was planning to tell you about it when the conflict at the border happened. So I was unable to tell you."

"My Son Mu Tian is going to get married soon. I want to invite you all to the ceremony."

As long as General Mu finished, the hall exploded once again. 

"What! Brother Mu you aren't telling lies to us do you?"

"How come none of us know that brat has someone he likes?"

"Or could it be that you are forcing him to marry someone he didn't like?"

"Tian'er is such a good child. How can you do that?"

Elder Jin once again started throwing questions. But this time none of the elders reminded him.

They even looked at General Mu as if asking for his response.

Feeling their gaze General Mu felt coughing.

"Cough, cough, Brother Jin and you all seems to misunderstand."

"Since you are busy in your cultivation and training the disciples of Vermillion Bird Cavalry, you don't know that brat has already become famous in the Imperial City for doting on his women."

"Originally, I also didn't know much about it but when I arrived, your sister-in-law told me what happened in the last two weeks."

"She told that brat has almost killed the Third Young Master of Chen for offending his women."

Elder Jin and Elder Guan felt dumbfounded.

Seeing them stammer, Elder Hao took the opportunity to tease them again.

He has been gloomy since the Elder of the Black Water sect came and escorted Crown Prince but he doesn't dare to show it in front of Empress.

Thus, the poor officials has became the target to vent his frustration. 

While Emperor Qin is venting his frustration on his officials like other days ,an Imperial guard entered the palace and bowed towards the Emperor.

"His Majesty this humble one needs an audience from Emperor. "General Mu said while taking his seat.

"General Mu you haven't attended the Imperial Court for more than two weeks. Don`t you think you need to give me an explanation?" Emperor Qin said in a cold voice.

Seeing that Emperor Qin has changed his target those officials felt relived. 

"Your Majesty, there were some disputes with Zhou Empire at the northern border. So, I especially went to investigate." 

"Zhou Empire has been preparing to launch an large scale attack on the border in Wind Valley and want to caught us off guard. "General Mu said in a humble tone.

Hearing this Emperor Qin's expression changed. 

Although he feared Mu Mansion's strength and can't wait to uproot them before they could contend with the Royal family , he knows if not for Mu Mansion Zhou Empire would have already started a full scale war with his Qin Empire.

This also makes him wary, of Mu Mansion's power.

He couldn't help but question,

"Huh! Zhou Empire is planning to attack again?"

"Isn't the lesson you gave them last time enough?"

 General Mu replied solemnly ,

"Your majesty. This time the Zhou Empire has the help of Jin Empire. I'm afraid , they might be planning something in the dark."

"So, I decided to bring three thousands strongman from Vermilion Bird Cavalry and a hundred thousand regular soldier and lead the war along with my brothers."

As soon as General Mu said this, everyone in the Imperial Court felt astonished.

General Kong, who has the same rank as General Mu and is responsible for guarding the southern border said sarcastically, 

"Tsk, tsk isn`t General Mu being too serious?"

"After all Vermilion Bird Cavalry is the second strongest Cavalry under our empire."

"Wouldn`t other Empire laugh at us if we sent such a strong army just to force Zhou Empire to force back?" General Kong Yuan said provokingly.

Originally, he and General Mu were same in strength but thanks to the previous General Mu who had build the Vermilion Bird Cavalry which is both good at shooting and furtive type marital arts and are considered second strongest army under Qin Empire after Royal Dragon Guard.

He had been jealous of General Mu for this and would always tried to provoke him.

General Mu turned deaf to that old man. He had been used to this person who would always try to provoke him.

He looked at the Emperor Qin and replied seriously," The number of soldiers that the Zhou and Jin empire has dispatched this time are more than five hundred thousands.

"Although they are weaker in strength, their overwhelming number can't be ignored."

General Kong who is mocking General Mu choked when he heard the number.

"How much you said?"

"Five hundred thousands? How could Zhou Empire mobilize such a large army?"

Hearing the number Emperor Qin also put a stern expression on his face.

Although he put on a serious face, he is feeling very excited at this moment. 

To him, letting the Mu Mansion fight fiercely against the Zhou Empire is like killing two bird in one stone.

He felt like he has never been this much excited for years.

Thus, he didn't oppose General Mu and approved him to move the army to the Wind Valley.

But before leaving, General Mu invited Emperor Qin and all the officials in the court to his son's wedding next week.

Emperor Qin thought that General Mu might arranged his crippled son to marry a commoner so that he can settled down. So he didn't delve deeper into it.

As for the officials, most of them also has the same thought and happily accepted the weeding invitation.
