Chapter:16

Han Ji ran with everything he had while panting and soon arrived where he was supposed to.

But then his eyes grew the size of saucers and his feet stopped when he looked at the 'thing'

"What the Hell is that?"

A huge eyeball worth the size of a water tank was floating in the air it had black hands protruding from its back,

The eye was glowing slightly, the hands were waving like tentacles, and it almost felt that they were made out of a dark liquid.

The colour of the eye was golden and the nerves on the eye were purple and dark blue.

Han Ji stared at it and his imagination started to run wild while staring at the creature in mid-air.

'What the hell is that? Could it be an Angel from the Bible?'

He remembers that one time he was watching a video and saw that according to Bible the angels were not beautiful women with wings but abominations made out of different parts of the human body or animals.

'If I still think about that day, It gives me pain in the heart, how my dreams were crushed in a mere second.'

'But still what is this thing, a demon, a God or just another Quiddity?'

"Hey, guys–"

Han Ji tried to look away and try to find other members of the squad to ask them if they knew what type of Quiddity was it.

But after a second he regretted making that decision.

Because the first thing he saw when he looked down was a body that was crushed in half, the guts were splattered across the floor.

"Heok!" Han Ji lost his balance and fell to the ground when he saw the dead body.

His breathing picked up and he was hyperventilating.

He turned his head here and there and all he saw were guts splattered through the floor, dead bodies laying barely recognisable.

"Heok…hah..heok..heok…hah.."

He was struggling to stay conscious after seeing such a horrendous view, he almost felt as if he was thrown right into a horror movie.

A man lay there with his skull crushed, his brain splattered on the floor.

Another one with its body stuck against the ceiling of the cave blood dripping from it drop by drop.

A woman who was the leader of the clan only recognisable among all the corpses laid there with blood leaking from her mouth, the light of life left her eyes already.

Her chest was flattened, and blood was all over the ground around her body.

"Hah! Heok! Hah! Heok!"

He kept on breathing uncontrollably.

"Man you don't need to run like th–!" DRC was saying but words were stuck in his throat when his gaze landed on the unknown Quiddity.

"What the f*ck!?" Bella exclaimed.

"Heok!" Leo gasped.

"Hey….Leo…you know what the heck is that thing–?" DRC was trying to as but was cut off in the middle by Leo.

"Shut up…we… don't know what it might do if we make noise or make any sudden movements."

"Han Ji…" Bella exclaimed.

As she saw the Asian shivering on the ground in fear.

Chad, who is usually the coolest of all, was also covered in cold sweats.

"Don't move…" she whispered

Han Ji stared at the creature while hyperventilating.

Suddenly…

"What the hell is that!?"The officials arrived at the scene.

And eyes moved towards him within a second.

"Huuargh!!" He screamed and aimed his gun at the Quiddity.

"No!!" Leo yelled.

TUK! TUK! TUK!

It was too late the moment the bullets hit the surface of the eye and dissolved on the contact.

But within one of those hands rushed at him.

"Aaargh–!" The soldier exclaimed.

SPLAT!!

Within a second the soldier's body was smashed into jello with blood falling on the face of the researcher, other soldier and the cartographer.

"Chase!!" The soldier yelled in rage and grief.

The members of the Ravage Corps had been together for a long time; they were brothers in arms, had received countless scars, and had escaped death by a hairbreadth for God knows how many times.

But this time they departed from each other.

The soldier was so enraged, he forgot about all forms of common sense and raised his rifle.

"You B*stard!"

"Stop!!" Zoe yelled but it was too late.

TUK! TUK!

SPLAT!!

The hand slapped the man and smashed him like a bug.

Zoe, who witnessed the soldier's death was, too stunned to react.

"Hah…..heok….hah…heok.." She tried to calm her breathing down.

Thud!

She heard a sound and looked from the corner of his eye and saw the man standing next to her fall to the ground.

The eye stared down right at her.

The All-Stars were shaking when they heard the sound of soldiers dying.

But they had no time to be scared especially, Leo he can't be scared and cower in fear, being the leader of the squad he was the one responsible to save his squad.

"Hey…listen.." Leo drew their attention.

'Look guys…move slowly.. no noise…take Han Ji… escape.' He communicated through hand signs.

They all nodded.

They all slowly started walking toward Han Ji.

Dab……dab…..dab….dab.

"Han Ji…hey .." DRC whispered, drawing the attention of the boy who was too stunned right now, hyperventilating and staring into the abyss.

"Hey…! get yourself together we need to get out..!" Leo whispered.

But Han Ji was too stunned to even hear.

"Sh*t…Chad.." Leo said, Chad slowly walked to him and picked up Han Ji on his shoulder.

"Let's go.." They slowly walked but then.

"Guys what happened!?" They heard a familiar voice.

The thing's attention was drawn to it.

Reyna stood there in shock when she saw her comrades slaughtered like pigs.

Her eyes were wide like the size of saucers.

Her breathing picked.

The gun in her hands fell to the ground.

Cold sweats started running down her forehead as she forcefully swallowed her dry saliva.

The worse was that she was still unaware of the presence of the quiddity.

The Quiddity approached her quickly and stood in front of her.

And right now it blocked the only path for their exit.

Leo and his squad froze in their tracks and stared at the thing.

'Sh*t that thing is now blocking our path, this is worst, not just that thing blocking our path moreover if Reyna made the wrong she'll soon join her dead Clanmates.'

Cold sweats rolled down his forehead as he swallowed the nervous saliva that hurt the back of his throat.

Meanwhile,

Zoe collapsed to the ground hyperventilating next to her dead and unconscious colleagues.

'No… There's no time to be scared. I need to get to safety first.'

She stood up and desperately started to drag her unconscious comrade back to the area they planned to build a safe base.

'Grrgh..why is he so heavy..'

Leo looked at the escaping scientist from the corner of his eyes.

'Yes…that segment is barely half the size of this one, it probably won't be able to get there. We can stay there, wait for a chance to escape, call for help or try to break our way out of the cave.'

He raised his hand and drew everyone's attention.

He used his thumb to point behind them.

All of the team knew what he meant and nodded.

They all slowly turned around and started to move, quietly.

Dab….dab…dab.

Meanwhile, Reyna still stared at the dead body of her leader.

The person who treated her just like a young sister.

She remembers the day when they first met each other.

"STAY AWAY!!!"

Tears ran down her eyes as yelled at the top of her lungs at the thing that was chasing her.

The thing had a human body, but its skin was reddish brown. It had multiple holes in its skin, a few weird bubbles and an ugly unsettling grin made out of triangular razor-sharp teeth.

It had weird long fingers that had huge nails.

Even with skinny legs, it was able to run at immense speed,

"Khieek!!"

She didn't know what happened. She was enjoying her time at her shop, selling and repairing guns.

Suddenly it felt as if she tripped and her vision blurred with a loud noise banging in her ear.

And when she woke up she found herself in a building with dark walls with pipes on them.

And then suddenly out of the blue this thing came and started chasing her.

"DON'T COME NEAR!!" She yelled as the thing was just about 4 steps away from catching her.

She closed her eyes, hoping that all of this was nothing but just a nightmare, hoping she'll wake up.

Trip.

She tripped and fell hitting her forehead on a pipe laying on the ground.

Consciousness left her body.

All she remembers hearing is the sound of PHISS!

Before she went unconscious.

Reyna opened her eyes and saw that she was in the room, the ceiling was dark, and the walls were made out of bricks.

Her head felt heavy and she barely remembers what happened just a moment ago.

She remembers being chased by a thing and then blacking out.

'Phew…it was just a dream.'

She sat on her back.

Tried to take a look around where she was but then.

SLAP!

A random person slapped her tightly leaving a red mark on her cheek, making her fall back on the bed.

Her eyes almost rolled back.

She was surprised, who was this person who slapped her out of the blue?

Before she could ask, the same person grabbed her shoulders.

"Hey! Are you f*cking dumb!? What the fuck were you doing!? Screaming out there without a weapon or any gear!? If you wanted to die that bad, why didn't you just shoot yourself!?" Her attacker was a woman with an angry scowl on her face.

Not only did she attack her physically moreover with questions, but she was also yelling at her.

Zoe's biggest weakness was being yelled at every time her father would yell at her, her mind would go numb, and she would feel like her tongue was tied up.

Her breathing would pick up and an unknown fear would surround her.

She looked blankly at the woman with a scared face, biting her lips trying not to cry.

"Answer me!" the woman yelled.

Reyna looked away trying not to look at the scary face of the woman yelling at her.

"Hey! Boss!" A man wearing goggles entered the room and yelled.

"What!?"

"The administration says that there are no records related to this lady's identity!"

The woman's expression softened.

She looked at the girl with a different expression.

The rage was replaced with kindness and guilt.

She let go of Reyna's forehead.

"That means…" she said softly.

"Yes…she's a new wanderer."

'I am….what…?'

Soon later she was told about everything and sat at the table with her food untouched.

All good that was too much for her brain to process.

'Why…? Why..? Why God… all I ever wanted was to live a peaceful life, a person to love me without yelling at me, telling me to do everything the way they wanted, why was I sent here?'

"Hey…"

The leader approached her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Hi.." She replied weakly.

"Hey, I am sorry for back then, I was just angry because I thought you were just a careless, weak idiot who almost got my people killed, attracting All those Quiddities, if I knew you were new from the beginning, I swear I might have never done any of that." She said In a much kinder tone.

"Hmm… I understand.." She replied weakly while looking at her feet.

Lola Jenner, the leader of The Dominators can tell that Reyna was not feeling right at all.

"So…what's your type in men?"

"Huh?" Her cheeks went red at the sudden weird question.

'Why would she ask such a weird question..?'

She stared at her with red cheeks.

"What..? You don't like men? It's fine, what about wo–?"

"No! No! I am straight!" She yelled, waving her hands in front of her face.

"Well then answer my question."

"Umm… I like funny and hon–"

"No! No! I am not talking about those things, it's obvious that everyone likes guys who are nice, funny, loyal, and caring. I am talking about physically, what's that one trait, that if he has, he's a 10 for you.."

"Oh…um.." She blushed almost like a red colour of a tomato.

She hasn't really paid much attention to it,

but she suddenly remembered, one time she was watching TV with her mom and remembered that an advertisement for a phone popped up that featured a K-pop group and remembers that one time when she saw zoom out to the face of the main vocalist.

She had a fuzzy feeling in her stomach.

"Well, I-I really like Asian guys." She replied with a shy smile.

"Oo …really?" She said with a teasing smirk.

After a while, they talked for what felt like forever and soon became best friends

The creature stared at her as she looked at her leader's corpse.

Tears welled in her eyes.

Suddenly she lifted her eyes and looked at the horrendous creature.

That killed her leader.

"Reyna watch out!"

She heard the voice from behind.

Suddenly she heard another voice in the back of her head.

'Not worthy..' And ignored the hell of her comrade.

"Huh?"

PHISS!

PHAT!

SPLAT!

"Argh!!'"

Her comrades shot at the creature but all of them were killed instantly.

"Ha!" She exclaimed at their screams.

Flash.

Suddenly an unnatural light struck her eyes.

'Huh?'

She looked in the direction from which the light came.

She saw deep in the other segment.

Leo stood.

He suddenly started making some hand signs.

'At my signal run to us?'

She was surprised.

'He really expects me to outrun this blasted thing?! Is he du–?!' Her chain of thoughts was paused in the middle.

She knows one absolute thing, that Leo can be anything, a retard, an as*hole but he can't be dumb and not at the Raids.

He has never made any move without calculations.

From a recruit, he was straight away offered the position of advisor the third highest position one can have in a clan just in a week.

If she had to leave her life in the hands of any person then it'd be him without a doubt.

Leo pointed three fingers at her then closed one.

She braced her legs.

And then closed all of them.

It felt like a huge surge, her flight and fight instinct was turned on.

She kicked the ground with everything she had.

Suddenly she saw a small pitch-black dumbbell like an object being thrown at her.

The thing moved in mid-air and she recognised it with a single glance.

She shut her eyes and pressed her ears shut.

BANG!!

That thing exploded and light filled the whole room!
