This morning was different from usual mornings. Renata, who usually wakes up early, had to wake up late because she had been crying last night. He rubbed his still sticky eyes. As soon as his eyes were fully opened he glanced at Dafa's bed. He saw that Dafa was still asleep with some Dafa documents still scattered on the bed. Ren rushed to clean it up on the nightstand, along with his husband's laptop. He then walked to the toilet in Dafa's room to wash his face and pee.
"Oh my gosh, that's terrible," muttered Renata who saw her reflection.
"Gosh, I could have cried all night," Renata hissed regretting her stupidity.
Renata had just come out of the toilet with her eyes narrowed and slightly swollen. It raised questions in the heart of the recently awakened Dafa. Dafa sharpened his eyes, he scrunched his face at the look on his wife's face.
"What's wrong? why are his eyes puffy? is he crying? Or is he sleep deprived or maybe he's sick?" Thousands of questions invaded Dafa's mind at this time, so that Dafa's heart was subconsciously a little worried.
Daphne felt guilty. He felt so cruel to Renata last night. And there was regret in his heart.
"Gosh what have I done," Dafa muttered.
Without thinking, Dafa immediately grabbed Renata's arm, which was walking to the side, making Renata startled and unsteadily fell on top of Dafa.
The atmosphere around them now turned tense, still in the same position, their eyes met each other. Their hearts vibrated in there forming a vibration that made both of them's blood boil violently. Renata, who realized her heart was beating fast, got up and stood back up in shame if Dafa heard the sound of her heartbeat. With their faces reddened, they both became embarrassed. "Sorry." Both of them apologized simultaneously, which made Dafa scratch the back of his neck which didn't itch at all.
"Sorry, mas, I didn't mean to, I was really surprised," said Renata as she twisted the hem of her shirt.
"I'm also sorry for startling you," said Dafa softly, which sounded sweet to Renata's ears.
"What's wrong with you?" asked Dafa while pointing at Renata's face with her chin.
"Huh… what do you mean?" Renata said not understanding.
"Why? why is your face pale and your eyes look puffy?" say Dafa explains.
"Oh… n-g-that's me," said Renata confusedly looking for an excuse which was then cut off by Dafa's words.
"I'm sorry if I hurt your heart, I didn't mean to. You don't have to take it to heart or think about it if it hurts. For the sake of my child, endure because I don't want them to be disappointed," said Dafa as he stood up to Renata.
"How can he speak so softly? Is this really Mas Dafa?" Renata thought.
"S-sorry ma'am," Renata stammered.
"I'm fine, I'm just missing my mom, Mas Dafa, you don't have to worry, even though Mas Dafa will never accept me, I still won't leave my children because they are everything to me. Excuse me, Mas. I want to see my children. -child because I haven't woken him up," Renata said while swinging her legs out of the room because Renata didn't want Dafa to see her tears fall.
For some reason, when Dafa heard Renata's words, Dafa knew that Renata's heart was hurting. Like a rebuke, Renata's words managed to pierce Dafa's heart. Dafa took a deep breath and then monologued with herself.
"I'm sorry Ren," said Dafa quietly.
"Sorry if you got hurt because of me," added Dafa as he rubbed his face roughly.
Renata left Dafa's room, she immediately prepared breakfast and rushed to get ready for the hospital.
At the hospital
Arriving at the hospital Renata went straight to her room but was surprised by a bouquet of her favorite white lily flowers on her desk which made her wonder who sent it.
"Lily? from whom?" muttered Renata.
"How does he know my favorite flower?" he continued.
"It can't be from Mr. Dafa, right? He doesn't even know anything about me, so who is it from?" Renata thought.
Not yet a few minutes Renata sat there was a knock on her door.
"Morning Doc," said Sister Nia kindly.
"Morning Sus, what's wrong?" Renata's reply was no less friendly.
"That's Doc, I want to tell you that this morning someone was looking for a doctor and brought the doctor a bouquet of lilies that I put on the doctor's table," said Sister Nia explaining.
"Who? I mean does Sister know what her name is or what her personality is like?" asked Renata spontaneously.
"His name is Sam, who is Sam, I forgot, Doc. The person is still young, handsome. Emm maybe a doctor's friend," said Sister Nia, trying to remember but failed.
"Sam? do you mean sister Samba Aditya?" Renata asked which made Sister Nia remember to remember.
"Well, y-yes, that's right doc, maybe later the doctor's break will come again because I told the doctor's schedule," explained Sister Nia.
"Oh I see, thank you, Sus. Later when he comes again, please let me know," said Renata enthusiastically.
"Okay, Doc."
Renata hugged the bouquet of flowers, she then smiled a little remembering her past with Samba.
"Sis Samba, is that you? I miss you, Sis," said Renata slowly.
Samba Aditya is Renata's neighbor as well as Renata's best friend from childhood to adulthood. They are indeed different in age but Samba and Renata always play together, study together, go to and go to school together. Samba always takes care of Renata like his own sister. So do not be surprised if now they are still familiar.
Tok Tok Tok
"Come in," said Renata without looking at anyone who came because she was busy chatting with Kafa.
"Hello, Mrs. Doctor is beautiful," said Samba as he tapped on Renata's desk which made Renata surprised.
"Sister Sam, oh my gosh, I miss you," said Renata as she ran to hug Sam.
They finally chose to continue their conversation in the hospital canteen. Long time no see makes them cool to exchange personal stories that they experienced when they were separated. Yep, they were separated since Samba's parents decided to live in Singapore and it made Renata lonely because she had to be separated and far away from Samba. They missed so much they were chatting and joking without realizing it, when Renata's break time was almost up.
Drrt drrrt drrt
An incoming call interrupted their chat for a moment. Renata hastily grabbed her cell phone because she was worried if there was something important.
"Yes, Mom?" Renata said to the mother on the other side.
"......"
"Oh yes, Ren will follow after this."
"......"
"Okay Ma, bye," said Renata as she turned off her phone.
Samba, who was watching Renata calling, realized that he and Renata had been chatting for too long. He decided to say goodbye because he was not comfortable with Renata. Before they parted again, Samba asked for Renata's cellphone number so that she could keep in touch if she didn't get to meet her. Renata was happy to share the number.
"This is my number, don't forget to call me," said Samba while pinching Renata's nose and then walking away.
