Chapter 13

The next morning when Artemis woke up she almost couldn't remember anything from last night. She didn't remember Grandma Shuu putting her to bed but she was in bed wearing bedclothes. She missed being in the Human World where Grandma Shuu didn't baby her so much although she did like living in the Beastworld. It just felt so wrong. Grandma Shuu says that the only way to put a stop to this would be to get mated and make sure her mate knows not to do these kinds of things. Artemis Shook her head but got out of her bed and found Grandma Shuu sitting on the front steps with a cup of tea. "Is everything okay Nana?" Artemis asked her, trying not to be alarmed. GrandmaShuu looked up and smiled at her and said "Oh Yes dear. Just watching all of the boys sleep." She pointed at the three wolves and one Eagle laid out in the yard. Artemis started giggling at the picture in front of her. "I decided since we all drank that wine last night we could take advantage of it and sleep in this morning." She added. "The Princess has been a little happier lately, I'm dying to know what's in her tea so I can get her more" Apollo said, sitting up while Artemis giggled and smiled some more. "You're right. She's a little more cheerful these days" Kasper said sitting up as well.

The sun was quickly starting to rise bringing the crisp dawn into a bright morning. These days no matter how bright it was, the day was still getting colder and colder. Grandma Shuu got up and pulled down a slab of meat to cook for breakfast while Kasper and Apollo got up and started to transport clean water and firewood into the house. Only Danny and Bowen we're still sleeping on the ground while everyone else has gotten up. Artemis stepped down into the grass and stretched her arms to the sky then when she relaxed her line of sight landed down to where Danny was laying. Artemis crouched down and stared at Danny's face. Danny was of course more handsome than the human males Artemis grew up knowing. What stood out the most was his innocent face. He didn't look so much like a child but his features were still young and it made him seem harmless. His black hair was not too short and wavy hanging just below his ear.

"Daniel" Artemis chimed gently in his ear. She didn't mean to sound too intimate and seductive but she was excited and made herself even more excited and even woke him up. Danny slowly opened his eyes and saw Artemis looking down at himself. Her scent was strong so he knew he wasn't dreaming. "Princess?" He whispered blinking again and looking up at her with wide eyes. Artemis relaxed and smiled. "How are you feeling? Are you hungry?" She asked him. Danny was stunned. He didn't even know what to say to her. A beautiful Princess was talking to him face to face. She already barely said a word to him and now she is right here asking him if he's hungry! "Um no, not hungry. I just love you" he blurted out. Danny was immediately embarrassed and closed his mouth shut but Artemis surprised him and started giggling. "I think I like you Daniel, but I don't want to be treated like a Princess and pampered like a baby. And I don't want to feel pressured into being with you and giving you cubs either" she told him honestly with a smile still on her face. Danny felt stupid for saying such a thing at this very moment when she finally was talking to him. He hoped he could make up for it and not change her good mood. "No pressure Princess. I can be patient for as long as you need me to be" Danny said to her "I know. Now will you eat breakfast with me?" She asked him again. "Yes!" Danny said immediately.

Bowen had woken up while Artemis conversated with Danny and was watching them interact. Seeing her in such a good mood made him happier. He sat up and smiled imagining her in her own house taking care of him and their cubs. She would make a great mother and mate and she knows it. "Bo?" Artemis said Drawing his attention back to present time "Yes Princess?" He asked her, stuck on his new nickname from her "Would you like breakfast this morning? You and Danny should go wash up" She said to him "Thank you Princess but I should continue working on your home today. It's almost finished" he regretfully declined. The look on Artemis' face turned into disappointment at his answer and he immediately regretted not thinking it through and saying he'd stay. "I think you should spend time with Danny today" Bowen said, surprising Danny and himself. "And what exactly is Danny going to do with me today?" Artemis asked Bowen "I can help you out on your farm!" Danny said, offering up his service. Artemis was a little disappointed and showed it by putting her hands on her hips. "I'm sorry Princess" Bowen said before she turned to walk away ignoring him. "Way to go Bo!" Danny said to him "well at least she gave me a nickname" Bowen teased. Danny smiled as if he weren't offended. "When she says my name it sounds more personal and intimate. I like it" Danny said, pleased with himself. "Well anyways I wanted to work on her home today so that it will be finished soon enough. She's been here in the beastworld for almost a year and she does not have her own home" Bowen said. "It'll be ready when she's ready," Danny shrugged. Both men stood up and went over to the little pond to wash up then Danny went inside to join Artemis and Bowen headed off to finish her cave home. Bowen knew Artemis would forgive him eventually he just had to keep working hard and she would ease up after seeing his effort. In the cave Bowen kicked up the pace and dug up another room and continued polishing the whole cave down. He smoothed down the walls and floors and after that he started to go out and chop down trees to make a huge door for the entrance to the cave. He was almost done once lunch time came he just needed to build the wood stove and the wood fireplace. It would be up to Artemis to decorate the place and make it home.

Danny and Artemis spent the entire morning working in the fields. Danny did all of the heavy lifting of course while Artemis went on telling him about all of the things she wanted in the Beastworld. All of the foods she missed. Furniture that would be useful. Clothing she wished she could wear. She even told him about her dream that she had of the cave home. Danny soaked in every word that came out of her mouth and used bits and pieces of the information to hold a conversation with her. "You will have it all. Don't worry Princess" Danny said to her. Artemis smiled at him. She remembered her dream where her and Danny were mates and had a family together. She figured for now the idea doesn't seem too bad. Danny takes good care of her and treats her well. He has not once asked her to be his mate but he definitely shows interest in becoming one. She decided to just take the chance and let it happen.

"Daniel. I want to accept you as my mate" Artemis said to him. Danny immediately looked up to her to see if she was joking or not. He was nervous about this sudden confession. "Princess. I'm not in a rush to mate with you. I want you to be happy and get comfortable here in the beastworld first" he said hoping she wouldn't take his response as rejection. "I've been here for almost a year and you have accompanied me this whole time. Don't you think you've waited long enough?" She said to him, "Princess" he said unsure how to talk this out with her before she does something she might regret. "Princess nothing. I accept you as my mate Daniel!" Artemis said with a certain authority in her voice. Danny was almost fully compelled to complete the deed but he had a lot of self control. "Princess! Be careful. Do you know how the process works first?" He begged her. "I don't know anything" Artemis said growling. She was losing herself to her instincts. Her eyes went from her black human eyes to her grey wolf eyes. Then she lunged at him, taking him down to the ground and landing on top of him. Danny wasn't scared at all and he was starting to lose himself to his own instincts. Before Artemis could go further Danny looked into her eyes and told her with seriousness "I accept to be your mate" she didn't waste another second and bit down into his chest with her wolf fangs. Danny didn't cry out in pain but he hissed and then let out a moan. Artemis let go of him and howled into the sky. There was a burning sensation on her heart. It felt like someone was taking a wet hot rag and suffocating her whole heart with it, this meant that Danny needed to bite into her now. Danny sat up and hugged Artemis tightly to his chest and then bit down into her neck very quickly in case he caused her any pain.

"Are you ok Princess?" he asked her immediately after putting his mark on her. Artemis looked down at the spot where she bit into Danny but didn't see any bite marks, instead she saw a vibrant tattoo of a white wolf right above his heart. She gently rubbed it with her fingers and as she rubbed his tattoo she felt another tingling sensation on her chest this time it felt good instead of feeling like it was burning. Artemis looked down at the spot on her chest and saw a tattoo of Danny's black wolf. "We are almost mated Princess" Danny said to her. Artemis smiled. "Mate…" she said to him. Saying the word made Danny smile also. He was beyond happy. "In the human world instead of being mated it's called marriage. The man gives the woman a ring and asks her to marry him. Then they have a ceremony to say sweet words to each other in front of witnesses and after that they are called husband and wife" Artemis said to Danny. "Husband and wife," Danny repeated. "Your my husband now Daniel" Artemis smiled happily "Your my wife," Danny said smiling back "I love you Princess!" Danny said before planting a quick kiss on her lips. Artemis was stunned for a second. "My first kiss?" She said, touching her lips. "I'm sorry" Danny said nervously. Artemis kissed him back and since she was still on top of him she could feel his erection trying to rise up against her. "I'm really sorry," Danny said, embarrassed. "Does it hurt?" She asked him, lifting herself up. "No I'm not in any pain" Danny said letting out a deep breath. Not thinking Artemis sat back down on his erection and felt the heat it was giving off for her. "Oh wow!" Artemis said, getting up and sitting next to him. "You're not ready for that yet. Please don't do that again" Danny forced out.

"Mate" a voice said in Artemis' head. She cocked her head to the side so that she could hear clearly. "MATE" the voice growled inside her head again. She didn't know who was in her head but she could understand the intention. She quickly hopped back onto Danny's erection right onto it. Danny immediately reacted by letting out a high pitched howl as her wetness started to transfer onto him. "ARTEMISS!!" He breathed out. "Daniel, are you ok?" She said ignoring the sudden foreign penetration in between her legs. She leaned forward but involuntarily started pushing down. "Daniel what is going on!" Artemis said, looking down in between her legs. "MATE!!" The voice growled inside her head again. This time the growl vibrated all through her body and gathered in between her legs and she slid down just a little more and both her and Daniel hissed. At this moment the wolf in Artemis tried to take over and she began fucking Danny. She put her claws into Danny's chest and held on while she bounced up and down on top of him. They both were moaning with no care in the world that they were having sex right in the middle of the feilds not too far from the little cottage.

(Back in the little cottage)

Grandma Shuu was the first to catch on to what Artemis and Danny were doing in the fields. She heard Artemis howl when they bit each other to initiate the mating process. She stood in place and smiled from ear to ear. "It has started" she said to Kasper who was standing on alert. "What? Is Artemis okay?" Kasper asked his mother frantically. "She is mating with Daniel," Grandma Shuu told him. Kasper's face went from worried to sick. "Oh no i think I'm gonna throw up" he said to her grabbing his stomach. Apollo burst into the little cottage alert and looked everywhere. "Where is she, is she hurt?" He asked Kasper and Grandma Shuu. Grandma Shuu laughed. Next Bowen screeched and thudded onto the ground in human form. Apollo and Kasper ran outside to see what was going on. Bowen was laying on his back and he looked over at the three of them. "I just saw the Princess… and Daniel… mating" he said clearly in shock. After laughing once again Grandma Shuu took a deep breath and got herself together. "Don't worry. I'll handle it. You three go on and give them some privacy" Grandma Shuu said, turning back into the house. Apollo was the only one still confused. He looked back and forth between Kasper and Bowen. "Mating?" He asked them. Bowen nodded his head with wide eyes. "She's on top of him," Bowen said dreadfully. Kasper and Apollo both shivered. "Let's get out of here" Apollo said walking away from the little cottage. Kasper followed and they both disappeared. Bowen scratched his head, still stunned. After a few minutes longer Bowen had finally shapeshifted back into an Eagle and flew back to Artemis' cave home. He figured she will definitely need her own place now. When Danny and Artemis were done mating she was not able to move her legs. She couldn't stand up and would not be able to walk so Danny carried her back to the cottage in his arms and she immediately fell asleep on the way. He was greeted by Grandma Shuu opening the gate for them. "I know. It's okay. If she was not ready then it would not happen okay" she reassured Danny. He nodded and then proceeded to walk into the little cottage and set Artemis down on her nest. "Go get yourself cleaned up and then come back for dinner" Grandma Shuu ordered. Danny nodded and then hopped out of the cottage in his wolf form. Grandma Shuu stood over Artemis with a washcloth preparing to wash her up and change her out of her dress. She took one more look at the little girl she has raised for twenty years. When Artemis wakes up she will be a woman. She is mated now.

Apollo had shapeshifted and ran off into the woods trying to distract himself so that he didn't go and rip off Danny's head. "He better not be hurting her!" Apollo growled, swiping his claws at the closest tree. "Don't worry my Prince. They will be okay,'' Jenny said. She was sitting on a tree stump sewing some clothes. "What are you doing here?" Apollo asked, shapeshifting back into naked human form. "I'm home! What are you doing here?" Jenny asked Apollo innocently. Apollo looked around and came to his senses. He ran all the way here without knowing. "I don't know. I'm trying not to hurt your brother for mating with my sister" he shrugged. Jenny giggled and held out her project that she was working on. It was a male fur skirt. "You came just in time. I just made you a fur my Prince" Jenny said sheepishly. Apollo was confused but then he felt cold all over and realized he didn't take an extra fur in case he shifted back. He covered himself with his hands and backed away a few inches. "I'm sorry if I make you uncomfortable. You don't have to call me formally" Apollo said embarrassed. "I said it's okay Prince Apollo. I was going to wait a while longer until you felt I have matured more and started to notice me." Jenny said, walking over towards Apollo. "What do you mean? You said it was perfect timing?" Apollo asked "It is. I was going to present this fur to you and ask you to be my mate?" Jenny said, holding the fur skirt out to Apollo. "In light of the Princess finally mating with my brother after getting to know him instead of doing it right away. I was wondering if we have known each other long enough to become mates as well?" Jenny asked Apollo.

"Did your mother put you up to this?" Apollo demanded "to be honest I don't trust her intentions" he added, shaking his head but grabbing the fur anyways so that he could put it on. Jenny sat back down and folded her hands into her lap. "My mother has not been home much since Danny moved out. She wanders off and drinks that wine. She's upset because she doesn't get any attention or respect. That's what she told me but she really is upset because she won't be able to control us and gain from us". Apollo shook his head again. "What type of mother shows no sympathy or emotion towards her cubs?" He sneered. "I'm glad i grew up like this. That way I will be a good mother to my own cubs because I know what not to do" Jenny said, smiling. "That is why I definitely want to be mates with you. You are strong and smart. I know you and I'm great friends with your sister the Princess. My brother is not coming back anytime soon and it seems neither is my mother. Maybe it is time to start my own life like Danny did" Jenny said, looking through the trees at her home. "I feel so alone and empty in that place now," she added. Apollo sighed. He knew that Grandma Shuu would like Jenny for his mate and so would Artemis. He wasn't prepared at all for a mating he didn't have and gifts for her and didn't have anywhere for her to stay. "I will mate with you" Apollo said, looking over at Jenny with his black wolf eyes. Jenny looked up and hers were brown wolf eyes. Their mating process had begun…

Apollo came back and announced that he and Jenny were now mates. He showed everyone the tattoo of her that was on his arm representing their union. Apollo told everyone about Jenny's mother Valeria disappearing from time to time and he told her to wait until the rain comes and goes and he will take her away from that home into a home of their own. Danny wanted to go back and stay with his sister but Apollo disagreed since she is now his mate. He will take care of her like Danny should take care of Artemis.
