Early evening was when all hell broke loose for Artemis and her entourage. As she was gathering with her people again, they suddenly felt a huge tremor in the ground. Artemis threw her arms up in the air and scoffed. "Oh, not this again!" Artemis groaned out. "Protect the Queen!" Bowen roared standing in front of her with his body. "It's a Lion attack! The Brown Lion Clan is attacking the White Wolf Queen!" Yozar announced frantically. The sounds of intense fighting and grunting could be heard coming from outside. Only a few people got up, leaving Danny and Bowen still hovering over her. "Please do not let us get separated my Queen!" Danny said to her breathless and full of fear. "Who dares to launch an attack on my granddaughter!" King Maximus roared storming out if the tent. "Get back. I must fight!" Artemis yelled trying to get herself free. "My Queen. Do not go out there. You must not fall into this trap. They want you to come out!" Yozar called to her. Artemis tried to listen and relax but her built up rage was intense. Suddenly she felt heavier footsteps other than the Lion Beastmen that had showed up to fight. "Somethings coming towards us Danny!" Artemis said trying not to freak out and lose control. "Calm down. We won't let anyone hurt you!" Danny said to her failing to listen. "No, Danny something huge is coming at us. We are about to be trampled!" Artemis said smacking his arm.
Danny and Bowen reacted too late. By time they both moved and started to pull Artemis out of the way two huge Rhinos came bursting through the tent tearing it down with them. "No way!" Prince Thomas said looking up in shock. The Rhinos did not stop, they ran right over Artemis and her three mates and took most of the tent with them and then stopped to turn and see the mess they had created. Artemis was pinned back to the ground and let out the most agonizing scream as she realized her wrist and leg had been broken all over again. She lay on the ground immobilized and bent up bad. It was an even harder sight for her three mates to see. They stood over her crying trying to figure out what to do first and apologizing to her nonstop. "My Princess!" King Maximus yelled from a short distance. Everyone tried to stop fighting and avert their attention, but the Lion Beastmen were too persistent and more started to show up. Soon Danny, Bowen and Prince Thomas had to start fighting to defend themselves and stop anyone from getting to their Queen. "Bowen! Take her out of here!" Danny yelled out. "I can't move her yet. She may be paralyzed!" Bowen said in a frightened tone. "Samuel." Artemis said in a weakened tone trying to summon him to her, but she was too weak to use any of her powers. Suddenly another rush of Lion Beastmen swarmed around Artemis and her mates giving them no room out. "The Queen!" Danny yelled trying to call out for help, but the Lion Beastmen were clever and aggressive in their assault. They showed up in their beast form standing up on two legs and they fought like men. Mostly all of Artemis' people were busy fighting off Lion Beastmen. Artemis still lay on the ground in the middle of all the fighting. She could not even shape shift and she was in so much pain it was starting to make her pass out. "Good job boys. Now grab their Queen!" the husky voice of a lion called out. The Rhinos started to creep forward and tower over Artemis. "The Brown Lion Queen sends her regards." Artemis said laughing out loud. "She sure does!" the husky voice rang out matching her sarcasm. In a matter of seconds Artemis was picked up and placed onto a gurney and carried away by the two Rhinos as everyone behind her tried to fight their way through. Artemis strained herself to look back and saw her mates in a group chasing after her while also fighting off attackers. Artemis felt that it was a shame that this was happening all over again, and what she hated the most was not being able to defend herself. These Rhino Beastmen are just carrying her away and laughing at their own crude jokes. "Keep calm. Do not force yourself and aggravate your injuries" Bowen said to her inside her mind. Bowen was using telepathy to connect with her. Artemis was touched by his message. "We will be right behind you!" Danny said to her using telepathy as well. "Don't worry my loves. We will overcome this obstacle and be victorious." Artemis said to all three of her mates. Artemis decided to let herself succumb to unconsciousness so that her body could focus on healing itself. She figured that when she gets a little bit better, she may be able to summon someone to her side if not get herself out of what ever little prison the Brown Lions had set up for her. Sleeping sounded like a good thing so Artemis focused her breathing and drifted off. No trash talking and no cursing no anger fueled rants. Artemis lay in the gurney quiet and peaceful as they carried her on.
Danny, Bowen and Prince Thomas all felt powerless as their Queen was carried away by two huge rhinos. No matter how much they tried to fight past the Lions the Rhinos we're long gone into the sunset. All three of Artemis' mates stood together and fought hard. They shape-shifted into a Wolf and Eagle and an Ape and really began to tear though the horde of Brown Lion Beastmen. Wolf King Maximus was in wolf form fighting as well. He was furious and moved like lightning while his hits and blows came down like the thunder. "I am angry! Kill them all!" King Maximus said out loud while still in his wolf form. All of the White Wolf Beastmen all said "Yes!" together and and you could feel the strength and rage kick up a few notches as they went on fighting. "Kill, kill, kill, kill!" The White Wolf Beastmen chanted as King Maximus snapped the neck of his opponent. "Kill them all!" King Maximus roared. Behind him Danny loudly howled into the sky, Bowen flew overhead screeching and calling out Eagle cries. And Prince Thomas was all rage as he stood there huffing and beating his chest. Tonight these men will tear through anything to avenge their Queen and get her back!
Back in the White Wolf Kingdom
The most unexpected thing happened to Prince Christopher just now. It was night time and the Prince was sitting outside of his cabin washing furs out for him and Lilly. Suddenly he felt a throbbing pain in his wrist and in his leg. He almost lost his balance and fell into the basin of water. "What was that?" Prince Christopher asked himself as he put his hand on his chest. He looked over at Lilly to make sure that she was okay and when he confirmed she was lounging soundly in her chair he sighed out in relief. "If it's not my mate that I'm feeling then who could it be?" Prince Christopher asked himself. "Hey what's wrong?" Princess Lilly asked him. "I do not know. I feel like someone is in danger. Someone I'm close to." He said to her. "Well the only people you would feel a close enough bond to is your mate and your parents. We don't have cubs yet so it's not that." Princess Lilly said as she got up and went over to where Prince Christopher was sitting. "My parents?..." Prince Christopher asked her. Princess Lilly nodded her head. "You don't think it's my mother do you? Could she be hurt?" Prince Christopher asked frantically as he stood up "Samuel!" Prince Christopher called out looking around for him. The newest doctor of the family popped up right out of thin aid and right in front of First Wolf Prince Christopher. "Yes my Prince." Samuel said bowing his head. "Is my mother okay? I feel like she's hurting?" Prince Christopher asked him. "I did feel something in my heart. I wish they'd have taken me with them so I can take care of the Queen." Samuel said to him looking sad and lost. "Okay, screw that, If my mother is hurt then she needs us. I think it's time we set out to go help her!" Prince Christopher said shaking his head. I'm going to pack some things and I want you to come with me Sammie!" Prince Christopher demanded. "Do you think it would be wise to disobey your mothers orders of staying here?" Samuel asked the Prince. "Yes. But as long as the great of my siblings stay here and we rescue my mother then I don't care about the consequences!" Prince Christopher said shaking his head. "I understand. I will go pack my bags and we can head out together." Samuel said slowly nodding his head.
"If you are going to run off to find your mother than the smart thing to do would be to bring along backup." Said Princess Little Wen as she came through the trees and presented herself. "Princess Wende!" Samuel said bowing his head to her. "The Queen said that you specifically have stay here for the Ape cubs. I would have to object with you coming or bringing any more children along." Samuel said to her with regret. "Don't worry Sammie. I'm only sending you off with a dozen of our fighters for protection." Princess Wende said smiling. "Oh, that's a great idea!" Prince Christopher said excitedly. "Lilly. I want you to go back into the castle and help Royal Aunt with the cubs. The eagle cubs to be exact!" Prince Christopher said looking over at Lilly. "I think I should come with you, I know my way back to and through the Lion Kingdom. I can help!" Princess Lilly said. "It's okay First Prince. I have the rest of the older cubs and I have your Papa John here to help me. We will be okay." Princess Wende reassured him. "We should pack and get some rest tonight. We'll head out first thing in the morning." Prince Christopher said nodding his head. Samuel and Princess Wende also nodded before turning and going back into the castle. "My Prince. Is this really going to be okay? Are we going to be safe enough with a dozen fighters?" Princess Lilly asked Prince Christopher as she hugged onto one of his arms. "Don't worry. My mother's the strongest moat capable woman I know. She can overcome anything with her family by her side." Prince Christopher said hugging her. "You are getting cold. Let me finish these clothes and ill come inside to tuck you into bed okay." Prince Christopher said to her softly rubbing her back. The Princess nodded and did what she was told.
It didn't take Prince Christopher long to finish the furs as he quickly worked through them. Once he was done and he hung the furs up on the clothes line he went inside his cabin to check on his mate. Princess Lilly was already sound asleep turned up in their nest. Prince Christopher smiled as he started and admired his mate. After a while though he averted his gaze to look around and see if he had anything useful he could pack. He knew that the only thing Samuel would be bringing is medicines and stuff and Princess Lilly would probably prioritize food and clothes. Weapons. That's what he could acquire, some weapons from the weapon storage room. Prince Christopher Quietly snuck back into the castle to that he could grab some weapons and some extra food and furs. He would take his allowance savings buy whatever they needed along the way. He would also pay the dozen fighters an advance before leaving just to increase their motivation. He felt proud of himself for thinking up a good plan so that he could go help his mother.
Meanwhile in the Brown Lion Clan
It didn't take long for the two rhinos to make it to their destination. They gently placed Artemis onto a stone platform and left her there. She was soundly sleeping and not making any noise so they didn't bother with her. She was left in a room with a locked door and no light. After about an hour or so the Brown Lion Queen went in to visit her. Queen Indigo was still very pregnant and had the nerve to antagonize Artemis while she was unconscious. She and her brothers were in the prison cell taking turns kicking her legs. Fortunately, she couldn't feel it because she was paralyzed and she was still unconscious so no matter how hard they kicked her they still wouldn't get a reaction out of her. "My Queen. Sister. You should rest now. Don't tire yourself out" one of Queen Indigo's brothers said to her pulling her away from Artemis. "I am having so much fun. I don't think I want to kill her. I want to keep her as a pet. Get a heavy iron collar to put around her neck!" Queen Indigo said happily. What if she is already dead. She got trampled by Rhinos and then we've been beating on her for a while now. I don't think she's even breathing." Another one of the brothers said. "Oh well then so be it. Now we just have to take care of the rest of her entourage and continue with my plans." Queen Indigo said shrugging her shoulders. She finally turnt away from Artemis and left the room feeling satisfied with herself.
