Jion Returns

"Who the hell are you?" Astal asks while his arms drop down.

It seems Astal is at his limit, or at least that's what it looks like for the time being.

"You may call me Jion, I have unfinished business here as well, Scum." Jion answers while looking over at me.

This wasn't good, two people who want me dead are now here. I do have some strong friends on my side though, so I can rely on them for backup in this situation.

"Why does someone always have to get in the way?" Astal says with anger in his voice.

Before my party could do anything, Astal had charged in at Jion instead of us. It seems that Jion has taken the spotlight off of me, so this is definitely the best chance to go.

With that, I ran back to the group and just signaled Rika to come back so that we could get going.

"We aren't fighting?" Kallista asks as we head away from the scene.

"No need to, Jion took his attention." I answer while leading the way.

If Astal was like any other villain, he'd have teamed up with Jion instead. Luckily it played out in our favor since he ended up being the same as he was last time.

Only eager to complete his quest so that he could continue on. I still wonder what the hell his system is, but why wouldn't he get a quest update by now?

Or maybe he did but now I've become a side quest for him to complete at any time. I already know I'm a target so this is nothing new, but it just makes me even more curious about why my system seems so strong.

Wait, I need to find a safe place to read that book too.

"Do you even know where we are going Sevarian?" Rika asks with an annoyed tone.

"Outside the city. So it'll be a decent walk." I respond while looking ahead.

The way out of the city would definitely take some time, but we had some time now since we got pretty far from the area. I doubt that fight will last very long, Jion seems pretty damn strong.

Even if our fight didn't last that long, he did seem to have this aura he gave off that told me he wasn't fighting all out yet. Just the way he acted also made sense, but maybe he knew less about my power or system as it's called.

"You really want to find the other gate already?" Kallista questions with a bit of concern in her voice.

"Yeah. The faster they are dealt with, the better." I answer while thinking.

I know I have some level ups to use but I think I'll conserve them for the time being. Those skill trees probably improved more as well, so everything needs to be checked out when we get outside the city.

"Fair enough. It is my goal to shut all these gates." Kallista says with a calm tone.

Sometimes I forget that she is a hero but then again, she hasn't been a part of my party that long at all. I'll have to talk to her more too.

Our trip went along for quite a few hours before we finally reached what appeared to be the border of the city. Outside of this was the second gate, or at least that's what we were told.

I'm not sure where it'll be exactly but I do know that Rika will be a perfect person to get help from when it comes to finding it.

"We should find a spot to rest." Elizabeth suggests.

"I agree." I reply while looking around us.

It shouldn't be too hard since most of the area had appeared to be forest. So after a bit of looking around, we managed to find a decent spot to set up a camp.

This didn't take very long since we had a decent amount of people to gather everything we needed.

After everything was set up we all took a seat by a small fire for a little while. Probably was the best opportunity I'd get to talk with everyone more before traveling again.

"So Elizabeth, what is your story exactly?" I question with a bit of curiosity.

"Why doesn't someone else go first. I'll go after them." Elizabeth responds with a bit of a nervous tone in her voice.

"Okay I guess I'll tell everyone a bit more about me." Rika speaks up before starting to tell her story.

{Rika's Story, Her POV}

A long time ago I had lived in a world far different from what this place was. The only thing we had in common was the systems that this world has come to know of.

This was all thanks to a being known as the Monarch, it helped in the creation of these systems so that it could help species of all kinds.

It would help improve them in different ways with each system, so by default they had began to test it in my world.

The world of Calet, it was mostly peaceful there. Humans got a long with the different species, the magic we had was used for good intentions, and food was shared amongst everyone.

All until this Monarch showed up, he wanted to change everything so that we could avoid a future catastrophe. Yet, nothing ever came and we had wasted time focusing on these systems.

Until one day an attack happened on my village that killed everyone close to me. I didn't understand it for a long time, but then we started to see these gates appearing in our lands.

Slowly mobs as you call them now, would go through each of these gates to kill the people who caused this. But none of us knew at the time that it was all caused by the Monarch.

So eventually I ended up coming through to find this guy. The one behind all the attacks on my world and countless others.

But there's a lot before this that I'll have to get into.
