"The gateway is absolutely huge, I think I'm even more excited now!" Zeke shouts while beginning to run towards the entrance.
"Hey wait up!" I shout while chasing behind him.
I was 15 at the time and Zeke was 13 but we both had been friends since we were little so we didn't want to waste opportunities like this by ourselves.
It was a dream to make a name for ourselves, whether we were knights or adventurers.
"Hold up, are you sure you kids should be going in?" A knight asks while looking down at us.
"We are positive!" We both shout in unison.
"Well aren't you two both aspiring heroes. Good luck inside, don't go too far if you can't handle the first floor." The Knight warns before moving to the side.
Most of the knights didn't want to let kids like us through but some wouldn't let the opportunity pass by for us to grow. Adventurer's were already inside the dungeon but they all had more experience than both of us combined.
"Oh yeah, where'd you get that armor Elzi?" Zeke questions while looking back at me.
"It was my sister's old armor. It's pretty tough stuff." I answer while holding onto my sword.
My older sister has been gone for some time now but no one knows if she's dead or alive since she went off with the guild a long time ago.
"It suits you." Zeke says with a sincere tone.
Sometimes these things make me tear up because of the fact that my sister wasn't here to help us. We've not had any communication with each other since I last saw her two years ago.
"Hey, hey, I see slimes!" Zeke shouts while rushing towards them.
I know he's excited but it's still risky to be rushing in without any knowledge of how this place works.
Flash!! Flash!! Bright white light began flashing on and off, I couldn't see anything.
What's going on?
"Both of the dungeons have been completed. I'm impressed." A dark voice begins to echo.
"Zeke do you hear that?" I ask while trying to navigate in the bright room.
My mind was at a loss for words right now since I couldn't see anything and it spoke of the dungeons being completed. I don't know what's going on.
Splatter. The sound of some liquid hitting the ground was heard but I couldn't see anything.
"Elzi help me!" Zeke calls out before a thud is heard in the distance.
"I'm coming Zeke!" I shout out to him while running.
The light began to disappear and I could finally see Zeke, he was on the floor with blood around him.
"Zeke!!!!!" I scream with tears slowly going down my cheeks.
I reached Zeke but all I could see was a hole in his chest. It didn't feel real at all, why did this happen...?
"Elzi I don't know what happened." Zeke says weakly.
"Don't talk, it'll be okay." I reply while wiping tears off my face.
You are the hero aren't you?
I haven't done anything to be considered a hero so no I'm not a hero.
A shame that another Novarti will die then.
My name is Elzi Novarti and it was referencing the only person that I could know of. Kallie Novarti, my older sister who apparently died according to this being.
"Achieve our dreams for us Elzi, become the best adventurer you can be or maybe even a hero..." Zeke says before coughing.
That was when I met him. A mysterious being floating in the sky while looking down at us. He wore a hood that concealed his face with these strange robes.
"Only the strong will survive. I hearby open the gates of Azeth, you will either kill the gate boss and stop the spread or your world will fall." The being says while staring directly towards me.
"I-I can't do that. I'm not strong enough." I say to myself quietly while looking down at Zeke.
"I... believe in you.." Zeke says before his breathing stops.
All I could feel was tears down my cheek and anger building up, I just wanted to kill this being. He had to be behind this whole thing, Zeke dying and my sister's death.
"I'll kill you no matter what!" I shout with tears going down my face.
{Current time}
I remember going around killing all the creatures that came out from the mini gates, one after another. The Monarch brought worse creatures to the world compared to the dungeons.
But I never got to experience the dungeons beforehand since it was completed before I could do anything. My sister had to be behind the second one but I don't know who cleared the first one.
I guess that's why I took on a part of her name when I came here in search of the monarch.
Sevarian is my friend and ally, I need to stop fighting back against him. Something was telling me to kill him and the others.
{The perspective has shifted.}
Sevarians POV.
The smoke still blocked the view of everything but I didn't see any counter attacks happening. I must've won the fight if she isn't attacking right?
"I'm sorry Sevarian. I don't know what came over me." Kallista says softly.
If I didn't have the leveled up stats I have, I wouldn't have heard her.
"It's okay. Are you okay?" I question as the smoke begins to clear.
As it cleared I could slowly make out Kallista's face for the first time since I've met her. I didn't know how to react, she was absolutely stunning.
Her dark red eyes followed by a slightly pale complexion, long crimson red hair that went past her shoulders, and a scar across her cheek.
"I'll be okay." She responds as tears go down her cheeks.
Why was she crying?
~Finish her off already.
Shut up.
{Deactivate Skills.}
I walked over to her without any hesitation and gave her a hug. I don't understand anything about this but I know that she's back to normal.
"I swear that wasn't like me. He poisoned my mind." Kallista says while hugging me tightly with sadness in her voice.
"I'm here Kallista." I reply while holding her.
You just keep giving me more and more reasons to kill you Monarch. I can't wait till I end your chaos.
