Two roses?

(2022 September 10) Ok let me get this straight....these past few days I have locked myself in my home along with Boots ( my tiny cat). I have switched off my phone and have not replied to the people who are pressing my home bell. All of these due to that incident two days ago. Before telling about that incident I feel the need to give a recap about how it all started in the first place...

Valentine's Day...the date on my phone is screaming those words to my face. Hi , I'm Ruby full name Ruby Rose . I was trying to set up a cafe for the past two months and finally yesterday I opened my cafe Caffeine. My best friend and some of my college friends who were not there yesterday will have a small reunion plus inauguration in my cafe. I'm waiting for the car engine to start when suddenly I get a message..

(Dora: Hurry girl..Today is D-day.)

Dora is my best friend from childhood. She is not like other girls...to me she is somewhat different. What is this girl going on about? D- day? As she is weird I don't mind the message and start the engine one last time. The car suddenly roared to life.

I am having a gala time hearing people talk about how I succeeded finally after three years of finishing college. Dora is coming towards me with a glass of wine.' What ? ' I speak with my eyes. She gives a smiling expression and messages me. By the time I look at the message she is gone.

(Dora: Ruby come to the kitchen, I need to tell you something. )

I wonder what it might be as I excuse myself from my friends. Who knows she might want something to get high? ...On a day like this? My ears are turning red.

I don't know what to say...Dora is standing near me with a rose in one hand and a nervous gaze in her eyes. She starts " I don't know when it started Ruby but... I really need to tell it to you today. You mean more to me Ruby much more than a friend..

I can't let you get in a relationship in front of me cause I know it will break my heart into pieces. Will you be my girlfriend? I promise that you can break up with me after dating if you don't find me suitable " . My heart is beating loud enough for me to think straight. What is Dora doing? I can't hear the rest of the conversation as my mind is buzzing with lots of things.

Suddenly my phone rings and Taylor Swift's Me! bring me back to reality. I answer it ( Lucy: Where are you? We have got a surprise for you. Come fast.) I cut the call and turn around to find Dora gone. I start walking and by the time I reach to where I was sitting I hear a violin. My eyes search for the player and my eyes struck gold. My college crush Theo is the one playing it. He is in a suit unlike his habitual casual dress. He sees me and starts walking towards me.Lucy is throwing teasing looks at me. Suddenly Theo acquires the classical proposing position. The crowd is cheering 'Date him' when I glance down Theo is smiling and asking me " Will you be my girlfriend? " with a rose in his hand. My heart is pounding inside my ribcage for the second time that day. I turn to the crowd and spot Dora at a distance. She is looking at me with a nervous gaze... the same look that Theo is throwing at me now.OMG what did I get myself into.
