She is Mine

Lana downed her drink and made Daisy chuckle. Most likely, Lana didn't expect the fact that Harry had feelings for her. Lana hadn't even thought about being in a relationship with a nice guy like Harry.

Harry was too good for Lana. She was just a woman who sold her virginity, a cheap woman like Rafael said. Her life is ruined now. No family, no love, not even the feeling to start a relationship with the opposite sex. The only thing Lana was thinking about right now was being able to live in peace. He doesn't want to think about romance after the bitter things he's experienced in the past.

Yes. Not after Lana saw her best friend having an affair with her boyfriend.

"What would you do if one day, Harry suddenly confessed his feelings for you?"

"Don't be silly, Daisy. That will never happen. You've misinterpreted Harry's good manners for liking me. He did all that out of compassion for people."

"You're the one being ridiculous, Lana!" Daisy laughed bitterly. She laughs at Lana's innocence about love. "You… gosh, Lana. That's why you're so easily fooled by men. Be careful!"

"Stop! Stop talking about love," said Lana.

"Don't tell me you still can't get over David."

"No!" Lana argued as fast as lightning. "I've forgotten it! I've thrown him out of my life a long time ago!"

"Good. The right choice!"

"Lana?"

Lana looked back. While she was chatting with Daisy, she heard someone, a male voice calling her from behind.

How surprised Lana was when she saw the figure of David standing only one meter from her seat.

"David?!" Daisy shrieked in disbelief that David was in the same bar as the bar they had gone to. "What are you doing here?!"

Lana couldn't help but be silent when she saw David's sudden appearance. Especially when the man walked casually toward her with an innocent smile.

"I knew it was you," said David who was now standing right in front of Lana, "I heard your voice when I came back from the toilet. I thought I was hallucinating, it turned out to be you. David smiled kindly. "What are you doing here? when did you arrive? Why didn't I see you coming?"

Daisy rolled her eyes in annoyance when her question was ignored by David. The man's gaze only focused on Lana alone.

"Just now," Lana replied curtly. She felt uncomfortable as David continued to stare at her with his warm brown eyes. The warm gaze and love that Lana thought were only for her, but in fact, she was wrong!

"I didn't know you liked coming to the bar now. You didn't really like coming to—"

"That's my business. You don't have to compare the past with now."

"Ah. That's right," said David, "I heard Christian wants to pay for your delayed college. Will you accept the offer?"

"How did you know about that?"

"I heard it from Stella."

Lana smiled wryly. That woman is like a stalker.

"Looks like Christian really loves you. Are you moving into his house now?"

Lana looked at David with an annoyed expression. She couldn't believe what she was seeing now. David acted as if he had profited from her stepmother's marriage to a wealthy man.

"Do I need to accept Christian's offer?" Lana deliberately gave more reactions to serve David's attitude.

"Of course. It's a golden opportunity that not many people get," said David, "my friend is having a party on the second floor. Do you want to join?"

"Oh, so you and your friends made the reservation on the second floor," Daisy commented lazily.

"Yes. Join us. More people would be more fun."

Again David smiled kindly. A smile that made Lana sick.

"Too bad, we also have a party," said Lana.

"Party? You mean the party celebrating your first day at work?"

"How did you know about…." Lana was shocked by what David found out to the point where she couldn't continue.

"Did Darren ask you to work for his company?"

"What do you mean?" Lana furrowed her brow.

David smiled wryly. "Seems like Darren really likes you, seeing how you work at his company."

"What do you mean, David?!" shouted Lana. She got up from her chair and stood up with a confused expression mixed with annoyance.

"Lana, you have a relationship with Darren?! Since when?!" Daisy stood up too. Her tone is no less high with Lana. She pulled Lana's arm so that they were facing each other.

"What do you mean?! I don't understand at all!"

"STRAY WHITE. The real estate company you work for is Darren's."

"That's impossible," whispered Lana, unable to believe what she was hearing. There's no way he'd work for Darren's company. The person Lana really wanted to stay away from.

"Didn't Darren tell you about this?" David frowned in confusion at Lana's surprised reaction, who didn't know anything about her place of work.

"What's this? Someone explain to me what's going on!" Daisy shrieked, "Lana, you're in touch with Darren?! You know him?!"

Lana was like someone who had lost her sanity. Neither David nor Daisy allowed him to breathe air to fill the void in his lungs. "Daisy… what… is Darren our boss?" Lana looked at Daisy with a frustrated expression.

"You're crazy, huh?! Darren Raveno. He's our boss! The owner of a real estate company, STRAY WHITE!"

"Lana?" David grabbed Lana's arm when he saw the panic evident on her beautiful face. "You are okay?"

"No, wait… let me—"

"Lana, tell me. Does that mean you guys don't have any relationship?" David grabbed Lana's shoulders so they could face each other. Lana's eyes filled with tears as their eyes met. "Lan-ah!"

Darren yelped in pain as one hand was hit so hard it slipped off Lana's shoulder.

"Darren?!" Lana widened her eyes in surprise.

"Mr. Raveno?!" Daisy covered her mouth when she saw the presence. She hastily shuffled backward — crashing into her chair — as Darren moved closer to Lana.

His stern and angry expression as he looked at David was terrifying. Especially when Darren slapped David's other hand roughly.

"Oh my God!" Daisy couldn't hide her surprise as Darren's arms wrapped tightly around Lana's waist.

"She is mine." Darren narrowed his eyes sharply as he threatened David.

While trying to free Darren's hand from her arm, Lana protested Darren's statement. "I'm not yours, Darren!"

David heated up as Darren tightened his grip on her. "You're not her lover," he insisted, "let her go, Darren!"

When David wanted to keep Lana away from Darren, the man grabbed David's hand so hard it made David wince in pain.

"I already told you, I don't like anyone else touching mine."
