Hostile - Part 2

The handgun's clip was emptied. But, the assailant was protected. Rudra was not able to do any damage to his assailant. He was having his second near-death experience now. There was nothing that he could do against such an enemy who is able to manipulate the supernatural. It felt insane to him. The assailant was about to give his next command. He had no tricks left. He picked up a piece of wood from the campfire which was still burning. The bats that were covering the man had broken themselves off and they had identified the enemy. The command was given.

.

Like being in a frenzy, the cauldron of bats circled Rudra. He was being attacked from left, right, and above and there was nothing he could do. At this rate, it was sure death. An explosion sound was heard from where Rana was standing. Rudra's body was being slashed. As he was about to give up, the bats began to drop dead, one by one. He could not understand what was happening. He saw intense fire lighting up the place through the smoke. More bats started to approach. But they were instantly cut down by a figure that stood in front of him. Their attention was shifted when they saw a tree get lit up.

.

"REACH TO HIM !! EXTINGUISH IT !!"

.

Rudra heard the voice of Rana loud and clear. Rana was safe. Rudra looked at the figure who was staying in front of him. It seemed like the assailant was about to make his next move. But now, it was different. Rudra suddenly knew what he had to do. Under the cover of the figure who just appeared. Rudra swiftly ran towards the campfire and there he found the item he was looking for. It was a ball. He dropped it into the campfire and the entire ground was filled with a thick smokescreen. But Rudra could see the silhouette of his assailant clearly because of the lit-up tree that was burning behind him. In one quick motion, Rudra reduced the distance between him and his assailant. From an unpredictable angle, Rudra threw his strong dominant right fist towards his enemy's chin. A strong uppercut has landed on the chin of his enemy throwing him off his balance.

.

The Dark Hunter was knocked down swirling. Rudra climbed on top of his enemy who had his back against the ground. He started to incessantly punch the face of the enemy who had almost killed him. When each punch landed, the man let out a pitiful cry. Rudra had understood the weakness of his enemy. He was too weak to handle close combat. His excessive dependence on long ranged attacks and the lengths he went to protect his body revealed his own weakness. Rana was quick in identifying it.

From the smoke, Rana came out limping to see Rudra punching their enemy. Rana had suffered second-degree burns, was stung a number of times, and his face and hands were swelling up. Rudra's body was covered in slashes and he was losing blood through the cuts. They had managed to defeat a very formidable enemy, but that was not going to matter. The rule was to kill or to be killed. With limited sight and a fatigued body, Rana fell to his knees near his enemy and stabbed him on his stomach until the cries subsided.
