survival divination -17

*Narrator POV Potter household*

"James! We did not raise you to be a bully!" Euphemia Potted berated her troublemaker son

"But Mum! I wasn't being a bully, we were just having some fun!" James being a hotblooded youth shot back confidently

"So attacking a fellow student is just some 'fun'? How would you like it if every time I saw you I would fire some spells at you!" Euphemia countered

James flushed a light pink, "It's not like that! He's just a slimy git,"

"What makes him slimy?" the quiet Fleamont Potter spoke up

James thinking he had an opportunity to weasel out of this whole situation boldly declared, "he's a Slytherin! You know how they are like,"

Fleamont sighed, "Son let me tell you a little secret, no one outside of Hogwarts cares what House you were in. Sure it can be a great conversation starter but no one cares. Some of the finest men I served with were Slytherins I will not have you grow this horrible mentality,"

That night the Potters wouldn't be going to sleep early, they talked for hours upon hours about how to treat others with respect and morals.

James was just a second year barely old enough to understand some of the philosophies his parents were preaching.

But, when he grows up slowly he will realize how this conversation changed him for the better.

Eventually, it was getting too late and Fleamuont saw James was fighting back his tiredness, sighing Fleamont smiled and said gently, "Son we aren't telling you to not have fun and enjoy yourself. We are simply telling you to respect others and yourself while you do so. Fun that comes at the cost of others' enjoyment is not fun,"

James yawned while nodding his head, "I understand dad,"

"Okay, go on and get some rest sweety," Euphemia said with a loving smile

Once James went up to bed the two adults sat quietly in the living room.

"That new divination professor makes me feel uneasy," Euphemia said softly while holding Fleamont's hand across the table

A troubled look crossed Fleamont's face, "I agree something is very off about that man, I saw many different types of people during the war but I've never felt something quite like him,"

Fleamont had a special gift, he could feel people's auras. It wasn't quite like Mage Sight it was more like an extra sense.

"What should we do?" Euphemia questioned softly with worry in her eyes

"I will find out as much as I can about this Professor and in the meantime let's hope we aren't sending our son toward a great danger," Fleamont said while rubbing his brow in exhaustion

*Marr Household*

"Why would you bully others?" Stiles Marr's mother Mckenzie Marr asked her son

Stiles stifled a yawn, "Mom I wasn't trying to, they are my only friends I didn't want to look like I was scared or something,"

"Pick better friends then!" She huffed in annoyance

"It's not easy being the only American in a British school, they are the only ones who treat me well," Stiles tried to fight back

Mckenzie sighed pulling her son into a hug, "I know, I'm sorry this move must be hard for you,"

Stiles hugged her back, "It's not I'm sure things will be better soon,"

She laughed helplessly, "You've already been attacked and now you're being looked at like a bully. I wish I could do something to help,"

As Stiles went to bed he couldn't help but think of the last moment before he left Headmaster Dumbledor's office. As he left with his mom Stiles caught Morpheus's eye and saw himself casting what looked to be an ice spell in the reflection.

He really wanted to be able to do that in the future.

'Maybe when I get back to Hogwarts I can look for an ice spell' he thought with a light smile as he drifted to sleep

*Lupin household*

After getting a stern talk from his parents about how this was his one opportunity to better his life and how he was squandering it because of some childish bullying; Remus now lay in his bed.

His life hasn't been easy, being bitten by a werewolf at such a young age he has gone through many troubles.

Remus decided to take this opportunity to improve himself and not waste this opportunity to learn.

Many in his strange and horrible situation don't get the opportunity to have professional schooling.

Remus wanted to learn all he can!

*Snape residence*

"We will be moving," Eileen said to Severus while she softly brushed his long hair with her fingers

"Really?" he asked excitedly

She smiled, "Of course, would you rather live in the wizarding portion of Britain or stay close to your friend,"

She was talking about Lily Evans, Severus's one true friend.

Severus thought for a moment before replying, "You choose,"

"Let's sit on it till tomorrow honey, now tell me about this professor," She asked curiously a carefree smile on her face

Severus almost cried tears of joy at this sight, he hadn't seen his mom this happy in forever.

"No one knows much about him but, he seems like a formidable person. All of the students talk about how he doesn't even use formalities with the headmaster," Severus replied with a small grin

"I see," 'how mysterious' she thought silently

*A couple of days later *

"Alright class, some of the upper-year students have been asking about how divination can be used offensively I thought for today we could discuss some lesser-known methods to help yourself survive in the real world with divination," Morpheus said with a small grin

All of the student's eyes lit up with glee hearing him say this. Quickly they all pulled out some parchment and quills.

"The first method helps when you are approaching a fifty-fifty chance on something. Let's say for example we ask 'Is it dangerous to round this corner'." Morpheus then pulled out a coin and showed it to the class

"This is a special coin, pass it around," Morpheus said to the class while handing it over to one student

"This coin can be made with any knut of Galleon, with some simple enchantments and divination applications you can turn it into a powerful tool. Heads means 'yes' and tails 'no'. With a simple flip, you can have the answer to whether a situation is dangerous or not," Morpheus smiled seeing the children's excitement

"Of course, you all probably want a more offensive method. Truth be told there aren't many and the ones that are offensive either take a long time to prepare or are too weak. Of course, there are some methods which are strong and don't take a while to prepare," Hearing this the students eagerly waited for their professor to continue

"But to learn those methods you need to be able to first master your resonated technique. If you do that by the time you graduate then I will personally teach you some powerful offensive moves," Morpheus said with a slight smile at seeing the student's downcast expressions

'If having to master your resonated art first was the shortest method how long were the long methods!' the students thought bitterly

"Let's focus on creating a coin for each of you this class," Morhepus said while pulling out some extra coins just in case some students didn't have one

The student's eyes brightened once again!

Professor Morpheus's class really is a roller coaster of emotions.
