Hogwarts Vs Mahoutokoro pt 2

*Narrator pov*

The cafeteria at Mahoutokoro School of Magic was a bustling hub of activity, where students gathered to nourish their bodies and minds, the student body of Mahoutokoro was rather small but many students could be seen enjoying their meals. Especially since a duel was coming up meaning every student was waiting for the action to start.

As Hogwarts students entered the cafeteria, they were greeted by the sight of long, polished wooden tables adorned with origami that seemed to, cast a warm, inviting glow over the space. Cherry blossom motifs adorned the walls, their delicate branches swaying gently in the breeze that drifted in through open windows, offering panoramic views of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

The culinary delights on offer were a testament to the rich tapestry of Japanese cuisine, with an array of dishes to suit every palate. Steaming bowls of ramen and udon noodles bubbled away in oversized cauldrons, their fragrant broth infused with the flavors of miso, soy, and bonito. Sushi and sashimi platters showcased the freshest seafood from the surrounding oceans, while tempura vegetables and crispy karaage chicken tempted the taste buds with their golden, crunchy exteriors.

At the center of the cafeteria stood a traditional teahouse, its tatami mat floors inviting students to relax and unwind with a cup of fragrant green tea. A gentle waterfall cascaded down a rock wall, providing a soothing backdrop to the melodic sounds of laughter and conversation that filled the air.

The cafeteria staff, dressed in elegant robes adorned with intricate embroidery, bustled about with trays laden with steaming dishes and colorful bento boxes, their smiles warm and welcoming. They knew each student by name and took pride in ensuring that every meal was a culinary adventure, reflecting the diverse and vibrant culture of Japan.

Outside the cafeteria, cherry blossom trees dotted the landscape, their delicate pink petals fluttering in the breeze, while the distant rumble of volcanic activity served as a constant reminder of the raw, untamed power of nature that surrounded Mahoutokoro School of Magic.

The headmaster Kazuki held a gentle smile, "As it was a long trip please help yourselves if you walk forward you will see our head of the kitchen staff he will provide you with everything you need. Not to worry everyone here speaks English so please mingle before the duel," he then began walking towards the tea house that was being emptied

Albus turned to look at the students, "Be polite and have fun this is a rare opportunity do not squander it," he advised before following Kazuki

Abara and Yowie stayed behind while Morpheus followed Albus. He walked with a gentle smile but if one knew the pale professor enough one would tell you he was annoyed.

Very annoyed.

Kazuki was perfectly avoiding him and it was rather annoying, especially because Morpheus wanted to speak to him in private.

Morpheus sat at the table next to Albus while the two Mahoutokoro professors sat at Kazuki's side.

Morpheus decided to make his move, "Kazuki no greeting for little old me?" he joked causing Albus to look at him in surprise

Kazuki scoffed, "I forgot you were here," he replied

Albus laughed, "You two know each other?" he asked in surprise

Morpheus nodded, "Yes, he actually visited my old school as a guest lecturer and ended up staying longer to guide us in elemental magic. Though I sent him a letter a while ago telling him I would be stopping by and he didn't reply," his smile was painfully innocent

"Brilliant!" Albus exclaimed, "Kazuki I didn't know you taught at Evernight,"

Kazuki laughed, "Taught is a strong word, my friend I was simply invited for my expertise and stayed for a little longer. And Morpheus I didn't reply because I simply didn't get your letter, alas if I remember you weren't the most interested in elemental magic I'm surprised you remember my lessons," he said while taking a sip of tea

Morpheus laughed, "I must admit I was rather occupied at the time but, I'm more focused now," he took a sip of his own tea

No one could hear the conversation that was happening, the real conversation.

Holding Morpheus's gaze Kazuki sighed, "Let's find a time to talk, we should start the duels a long day is ahead of us," as he stood Albus joined him

Morpheus chuckled standing from his seat and following them.

The Hogwarts students were led to a courtyard Tucked away in a secluded corner of the school grounds, the courtyard was a sanctuary of tranquility, shielded from the elements by towering trees and ancient stone walls.

As Hogwarts students stepped into the courtyard, they were greeted by the sight of a pristine arena, its smooth stone floor marked with intricate runes and symbols that pulsed with magical energy. Torches flickered along the perimeter, casting dancing shadows against the walls and bathing the courtyard in a warm, golden glow.

At the center of the courtyard stood a raised platform. The platform was surrounded by tiered seating, where spectators gathered to cheer on their classmates and witness the mastery of magical combat.

The air was charged with anticipation as students prepared to showcase their prowess in a variety of dueling styles, from traditional wandwork to more esoteric forms of spel casting. The Hogwarts students filed into the far side of the platform while the Japanese duelists were on the side closest to the crowd.

Around the perimeter of the courtyard, practice dummies and enchanted targets offered students the opportunity to refine their aim and accuracy.

"Say Headmaster we need one of these," Abara chuckled looking around

"Perhaps the budget can fit in some training dummies," Albus replied with a polite smile

Finally, a man stepped forward wearing a pristine white robe, he was the judge and announcer for this duel. The judges are picked and fairly put into rotation for every match, to leave nothing to bias.

"THE FIRST MATCH BETWEEN MAHOUTOKOR AND HOGWARTS IS STARTING NOW. THIRD-YEAR JAMES POTTER VERSUS KAORI NAKAMURA!" he announced loudly causing the crowd to go crazy at the mention of Kaori's name

James swaggered onto the stage with a confident smirk, he was feeling it this time. The feeling of self-assurance and confidence. He lost last time and that will not be repeated.

Kaori stood across from him, he gripped his wand tightly ready for the announcement while she kept her hands free a pink and blue ring adorning her finger.

Taking a deep breath both students readied themselves.

"Who do you think will win?" Albus asked Morpheus

Morpheus smirked, "I hate to admit it but that kid is rather crafty," he replied

Albus laughed, "Still not over the little grudge in the beginning?" he asked

Morpheus scoffed, "Like I would hold a grudge with a child, no I just hate to admit you might've been right about something,"

Albus laughed loudly, "Ah such a sin,"

"START!"
