Kingsley

*Narrator pov*

"Ready?" the two students nodded "Duel!" called out the dueling judge, his voice echoing through the courtyard with the aid of magic.

Kingsley raised his wand with determination, his eyes fixed on Hiroki as he prepared for the challenge ahead his fiercely beating heart now a calm rythm. Across the platform, Hiroki stood with a quiet confidence, his ring glinting in the fading light as wisps of smoke curled around him, seemingly a part of his magic.

On the professor's side, Morpheus smiled softly, "Kingsley is in for a rough time," he said to Albus and the other professors

"How so?" Abara asked

"Those wisps are a part of his family's magical gift much like a Metamorphmagus except this gift deals in stealth," he said with a mysterious smile

With a flick of his wand, Kingsley summoned a brilliant burst of light that seemed to form into a missile shape streaked towards Hiroki. "Lumos telum!" he exclaimed, his voice steady and unwavering.

Hiroki's eyes narrowed not recognizing the spell as he raised his hand, his ring glowing with a soft, pulsating light. "Hikari!" he countered, his voice echoing with determination as he dispersed the incoming spell with a shimmering barrier.

The missile of light seemed to explode against the barrier blinding Hiroki, "Stupefy,"

he heard from the other side of the platform

Hiroki didn't let not being able to see stop him as he got down low ducking under the spell, and then he began to move. His body seemed to be as fluid as water as he dodged the incoming spells his sight slowly returning.

Undeterred by the way his spells were dodged with ease, with a commanding voice, he uttered the incantation, "Fulgur Ignis!" A crackling bolt of lightning shot forth from the tip of his wand, illuminating the courtyard with its brilliant blue-white glow. The air crackled with energy as the lightning spell streaked toward his opponent, its power unleashed with electrifying force.

Hiroki's eyes widened in shock as he narrowly dodged the spell his kimono sleeves getting burned.

With a swift movement, Hiroki vanished into a cloak of smoke, his form disappearing from sight as he darted around the platform with effortless grace. "Kemuri Kakure!" he called out, his voice barely a whisper as he used the smoke to conceal his movements. The whole platform was now covered in a deep smoke making Kingsley the blind one now.

Kingsley scanned the area his eyes darting all around him as he heard his opponent chuckle softly, it sounded ominous as the small chuckle echoed all around him. Suddenly Kingsley saw a streak of light rapidly approaching his side, "Repello!" he yelled reflecting the spell just in time

Suddenly a spell came from his left, "Repello!"

From behind he heard something whizz through the air, "Repello!" he yelled spinning around

Alas just as he spun a spell headed for his back, "ARGH!" he grunted in pain falling to the ground his back was burnt, and his robe quickly caught on fire

Rolling on the ground he narrowly dodged another spell, "bloody hell!" he cursed

Kingsley began waving his wand from his fallen position conjuring a swirling vortex of wind that threatened to engulf Hiroki in its grasp. "Ventus Tempestas!" he shouted, his wand tracing intricate patterns in the air. The audience held their breath as Hiroki's smoke was blown apart leaving a the now-standing figure of Kingsley for all to see

He was exhausted, in pain, and above all angry.

Hiroki gritted his teeth and twisted his wrist, his ring glowing with a soft, pulsating light. With a flick of his hand, he used the dissipating smoke to create tendrils that swirled around Kingsley, latching onto his legs and wand arm "Kemuri no Tendō!" Hiroki exclaimed, his voice echoing with determination as he manipulated the smoke to his advantage.

Kingsley quickly shifted his wrist allowing him to throw his wand to his still-free left arm, a spell was already approaching him as he caught the wand and yelled, "Magnus ventus! Creating a giant gust of wind blowing the tendrils away and the incoming spell off course

The duel raged on, with Kingsley and Hiroki trading spells and counter-spells with lightning-fast reflexes. With each incantation, they pushed themselves to the limits of their abilities, their determination unwavering despite the intensity of the battle.

Kingsley narrowly dodged another spell before returning his own, Hiroki continued his speedy onslaught seeking to overwhelm Kingsley.

Kingsley despite the harsh battle was wearing a giant smile his heart beating rapidly in his chest, his back searing in pain, and his body begging him to just lay down. But, he wouldn't no he wanted nay needed to win.

With a cry of undomidle will Kingsley began to whip his wand around in large motions his legs constantly moving to dodge incoming spells.

"LUMOS TELUM!" he roared loudly creating a giant missile of light far bigger than his first use of the spell

Hiroki smirked, 'That is probably all he has left' the student thought, 'I just need to defend this and I win'

The missile raced forward and Hiroki erected a giant shimmering barrier and closed his eyes. Kingsley smiled in relief but he couldn't see that just as he didn't hear Kingsley mutter, "Expelliarmus" the red spell streaked forward but it seemed different, smaller, more compressed, powerful

The spell tore through the shield and caught Hiroki's unsuspecting as his body flew back and his ring launched off his finger.

Hiroki struggled to his feet, "What?" he said in English confused

The giant 'missle' of light just dissipated no explosion of light, no grand damage

Nothing like it was just a shell.

"Magical control thank Merlin for Professor Morpheus's lessons," Kingsley said as if his reply answered everything

Morpheus on the other hand looked at Kingsley in amazement, "To think a student has picked up magic control to such a level already," he whispered as the crowd finally overcame their stubbor and started cheering

Not very loudly as most of them were rooting for Hiroki.

"What do you mean?" Abara asked

"He tricked Hiroki and underpowered his light spell but made it seem as if it was the last of his energy while he used the rest for the Expelliarmus spell making it more powerful,"

"Brilliant truly, I didn't expect it when I saw the spell, " Albus said knowing how hard it was to accomplish that especially since he was but a third year

Meanwhile, with Kingsley, he sat with the healers as they patched up his back providing him the much-needed relief.

He panted in exhaustion but a firm smile held on his face.

"I did it," he said aloud to himself
