*Narrator pov*

The student body and professors at Hogwarts felt like they were in a week-long celebration after the duelists came back victorious. The high only started to twindle as midterms started to approach making the professors and students even busier.

Funnily enough even as the important exams closed in you could still find the Hogwarts duelists practicing at any chance they could. Some practiced to overcome their defeat while others to carry on their impressive win record.

As time began to move forward classes became cram sessions for the students particularly those who had extracurriculars especially the few who were both in the dueling club and the Quidditch team.

Xenophilius was headed to Morpheus's classroom for some tutoring, the last session they had left a sour taste in his mouth. It was distressing being him, it felt as if the more he learned about divination the more he slipped into bouts of visions. They were fast, seconds of visions but what he saw always left him disturbed.

He liked his professor, truly he felt that as a mentor Morpheus couldn't be better but, the things Xenophilius had been seeing were throwing him off.

Even more off than he usually was.

So, Xenophilius decided as the last tutoring session before midterms he needed to finally open up and ask what was plaguing him.

As he neared the classroom door he spotted some students leaving, they probably had to have some extra lessons.

"Come in Xenophilius," the professor's smooth voice sounded

*Morpheus pov*

I looked up from my papers to see Xenophilius walking in, he looked troubled although I'm sure he thinks he was masking it perfectly.

"Take a seat," I said beckoning to the seats pulled closer to my chair

He plopped down on the chair in the center and began to take out his supplies, "No need," I said stopping him in his tracks

"What are we going over today?" he asked as he returned his supplies to the bag he carried

I shrugged leaning back in my chair, "You tell me," he looked confused, "What's on your mind, might as well get it out now and not halfway through the lesson," it would be counterproductive honestly

He sighed, "I honestly don't know where to start," the conflicted boy confessed

I hummed, "Start at the beginning that's usually a good place," I smirked seeing his eyes roll

Good he's relaxing.

"To be honest I don't know where to start, most likely from when I first enrolled in your classes. I was drawn to the idea of learning divination and wanted to know everything but as time moved I have found myself Barraged by visions. They are so short I'm not seeing much, but as I learn more in your class and these tutoring sessions I begin to see more and understand more," Xenophilius breathed deeply as if a weight was being lifted from his chest

I hummed mulling over his words, "Your research over your family did you find out what the alternate name for them was?" I asked

He nodded, "Yes it was deep in my family archives but I learned some called us the heralds of the end," he said frowning, "Which doesn't make sense to me, yes we were known for producing family members that held the gift of sight but nothing suggesting something so grim,"

I laughed, "It's most likely because your family didn't like the name very much, it was actually said long ago one of your family members foretold the end of a gruesome war. No one believed them until it happened, and then another of your family did the same and it happened again and again. Soon kings and rulers alike worried about even spotting a Lovegood near their walls in fear of them heralding the grim future of their destruction. You must understand your family line is one of if not the oldest seer line in existence,"

He sat back in his chair confusion turning to comprehension, "So, I'm seeing the end of times?" he asked

I shook my head, "No, you are seeing a war. As you learned more about divination and attempted some of the practices in my class along with magical control you probably stimulated your mind's eye. Rare but it could happen with someone with potential like yours. The visions you are having are a possible grim future, but not THE future. Here wear this around your neck, it will protect you from random visions but, remember to take it off when practicing divination," I handed him a necklace made of twine and a metal plate much like a dog tag

He took it and gratefully put it around his neck, I could visibly see his body relax further.

"Now is anything else on your mind?" I asked lightly

"No sir," he replied with a smile

"Then let us begin our lessons,"

As Xenophilius left my room I sat back in my seat but, not before pulling out a bottle of wine and a nice glass.

Pouring myself a nice portion I began to drink and quietly drink my wine. Things were lining up nicely, soon Voldemort would emerge once more, and this time he would stay.

Part of me felt bad for the child, a budding dark lord powerful in his own right being used by so many people. He really stands no chance, but his purpose to me was the most important of them all.

After all, he was and is doing something for me of the utmost importance, and doesn't even know it yet.

Albus is beginning to see the full picture, I'm sure he is beginning to tell Voldemort isn't the most of my worries. He wants answers, and I'm almost ready to provide them.

Knocking me out of my thoughts was Negary flying through my window carrying a letter. I chuckled understanding what happened once I saw the seal.

Negary seemed to have mail-jacked Evan Rosier's father's owl.

Flicking open the letter I began the boring read of a British pureblood talking about how I was only getting this letter because Evan asked for us to meet.

Truly the way these purebloods see themselves is special.

A meeting before winter break begins, it seems he doesn't want Evan to be there for the meeting. It would be laughable if this Lucas Rosier intended to threaten me at our meeting.

Tossing the letter into my robe I resumed my drinking, the night was peaceful the sound of the wind licked my open window.

Closing my eyes I enjoyed the serene feeling, "Negary, take flight once more I need you to recover some artifacts," I said softly
