conversation with an angel

*Morpheus pov*

Playful, confident, dangerous, and knowing are the traits I'm outwardly displaying right now but inwardly I'm wrathful, bloodthirsty, and wish I could kill him right here and now. Sadly it would break the semblance of trust the goblins have in me.

After all, this is a sanctioned meeting if anyone dies no one fairs well.

"We have dealt with that small issue already, I wonder for someone who's so confident in his victory why would you be concerned about our plans after we take over Earth?" The angel asked with a smirk plastered on his face

I chuckled, "It's always fun hearing about others' fantasies," I poured a glass of the goblin brew sitting on the table, "I'm surprised you all haven't rushed down to invade yet, that seemed to have been your strategy the other times," I remarked

Fallin laughed boisterously, "The realms working together are far more powerful than you can imagine human, I look forward to the day we rain down from above and conquer your kind once again,"

I could tell he was trying to goad me, gain even a semblance of advantage over my mental state.

"Powerful? Then why hide like rats! Face me I am waiting," I replied with a smirk

"Rats? You should not be talking Morpheus you hide, plan, and deceive to get your way at least we are forthcoming!"

"Forthcoming? You have deceived plenty neither of us are clean. Do not play a moral game with me, angel," I spat with venom

"We are getting sidetracked, I originally asked you here Morpheus to show what side the goblins are standing on. Not some grandstanding pissing match," Grommash sneered

"Of course," I said with a small smile

Fallin shook his head, "I still do not understand King Grommash, why do you still trust the human after everything he's done? Your people are glorified bankers don't you wish for more!?"

Grommash sighed, "More," he tasted the word with a scowl, "Of course, we wish for more doesn't everyone? But, your kind can never be trusted I might not have been alive since the beginning but I do know we were treated as slaves, workers to build your underground kingdoms. I will not subject my people to the possibility of that fate," the scowl marring the goblin king's face was a sight to behold the raw emotions carried from his presence engulfed the room

Fallin shook his head, "It will not be the same! We come as equal allies as a faction we wish to flourish with all races even the humans once this nuisance is taken care of," the glare I received was humourous

I rolled my eyes, "And then what, You pollute the earth like you did with your realms? You act like the veil was the main reason for the loss of your magic and your suffering no it was only a helping hand. You all squandered and abused the magic in your realms polluting it and now you reap what you sow," my words came out harsher than I wanted but I couldn't help myself my anger surfaced briefly

Fallin slammed his hand on the table, "WE WERE FIXING IT!" he roared, "we were fixing it until you decided to take out your anguish on us all damning us to this torture," he said softly but the pure anger and hatred that was present in his tone was remarkable

He took a breath, "Why! I do not understand how one human can hold anger for this long, you stop us at every turn we just want to live!" he yelled

"Live? You want to be superior like you were before, this nonsense about wanting to create peace with everyone is laughable you forget I was THERE! I was there through the pain and suffering you brought everyone else, I refuse to let my people be subjected to your whims ever again. I will kill every last one of you I promise that much," I spat

"You are blinded by your hate!" Fallin sneered, "If we knew that failed experiment of a village would cause this much trouble we would have left you alone,"

"What?" I asked

"Hm?" he hummed with a smirk, "Don't tell me you didn't know,"

"What do you mean," I asked quietly my rage bubbling to the surface

"The man that knows all doesn't know why we chose his village for a solstice~?" his sing song cocky arrogant voice enraged me

I narrowed my eyes, "Enlighten me then," I sneered

"Hmm, I don't want to," he said with a loud laugh as he was engulfed in light disappearing from the room

His laughter rang through my head, my hands clenched into fists my nails digging into my palms.

"Well that was enlightening," Grommash muttered

"Indeed," I hissed

"We will talk later, thank you for inviting me Grommash," I said turning and leaving

***

Those words could have been said to rile me up and get me thinking about things I should not. Distract me from my true purpose.

Yes, that's what it must be. After all, I've killed and angered many of the races and yet they never mentioned this before.

I sat in my parlor wine bottles riddling the floor as I clasped another bottle.

Making me angrier? What a terrible tactic, it just makes me want to win even more.

I will win.

Even if Fallin was telling the truth that they wanted 'peace' it simply is impossible a mere fantasy.

I will kill them and maybe then I can rest, no there will be no rest for me. I will be damned to torture for entirety after I perish from this earth, and I welcome it.

*Narrator pov*

While Morpheus was drinking himself into a bout of seething anger Tom Riddle was planning.

"The Rosier family refused our invitation, my lord," one of the death eaters said bowing out of respect

Tom didn't reply, 'First the black and now the Rosiers, what is happening I thought they would have jumped at the opportunity to join a worthy cause,' Tom thought in anger and confusion

"Rosier," he said he uttered, "I think I will pay them a visit," he said to the death eater behind him

"Shall I gather a squad, my lord?"

"Yes, gather a raiding team," Tom declared

"We set out two days from now,"

As Tom planned to raid the Rosier family, Lucas Rosier planned to make his own force. As he sat down to begin a draft a tapping sounded on his window.

Looking over the man saw Negary holding a letter in its beak. Frowning Lucas cracked open the window just enough for him to take the letter and then promptly closed the window watching the bird fly away.

Casting the basic detections and seeing the letter was okay Lucas opened the note to see one sentence, "When you need help call," a metal coin rested in the center

A/N: to clarify Morpheus's village was NOT some superhuman experiment in any sense of the word he was born a regular wizard and has enhanced himself with rituals and such. This has been hinted at for a long time seeing as some of his 'traditions' just weren't a thing at that time. So no I'm not pulling some ancient magic history experiment thing here.
