The beautiful art of Transfiguration

*Narrator pov*

The dueling club was gathering for their meeting, the students were excited as hushed whispers were told amongst them.

Apparently, their very own Professor McGonagall will be participating today. From their very first class of Transfiguration when she showed off the rare skill of an animagus by turning into a cat the students wondered what her true strength was like.

It wasn't a well-known fact but the students like to rank their teachers based on strength. Pitting the professors against each other, it was a manner of pride to have the strongest professors be a part of certain houses.

The door creaked open revealing Minerva she walked slowly into the room instead of her usual teaching robes she wore a practical set of red robes the color of Gryffindors.

"I'm telling you she's going to win," James whispered to Sirius

Sirius nodded, "Of course, that's our head of house,"

A Ravenclaw nearby sneered, "I'd like to see her try and beat Professor Flitwick,"

Sirius and James busted into laughter, "She can beat him easily!" they talked as if her strength was their strength

Just like that, a loud debate began to form about whose head of house was better.

"Wow, you're quite popular aren't you?" Morpheus teased appearing beside Minerva

She sighed rolling her eyes, "Stop, this is exactly what I feared would happen,"

"Not a fan of the attention?" Morpheus asked

Minerva chuckled, "This isn't the good type of attention I'd much rather they pay attention in class,"

Morpheus laughed, "Well I'm sure after your duel the students will be more willing to pay attention during Transfiguration,"

"And what if they start trying to emulate my spells so early? It could be dangerous," she frowned in worry

Morpheus shot her an amused look, "Such a silly thing to be worried about Minerva, we risk the students trying spells above their level every day. At least now you can motivate them to reach newer heights,"

Minerva nodded in agreement, "You're good at convincing others to change their minds,"

"I am okay at it," Morpheus spoke modestly

Yowie was on the platform holding his wand in the air silencing the students' gossip, "Today we will have a different introduction to class. Our very own Professor McGonagall has agreed to demonstrate her mastery over Transfiguration to you all today. I hope you pay close attention as this is a rare opportunity to see the heights of Transfiguration dueling before your very eyes. Professor McGonagall has also agreed to stay after he duel and aid those who wish to learn more about how to duel using Transfiguration,"

The students clapped and cheered their excitement palpable, "Her opponent will be me," Yowie finished with a smile getting the students more excited than before

Minerva smiled while walking towards the platform, stepping onto it quickly. She walked up to Yowie as they exchanged words unheard by all.

"We will begin now," Yowie announced as they both began to walk away from each other toward opposite ends

Yowie swiftly casts Expelliarmus, aiming to disarm Minerva, who reacts with precision. She transfigures the platform beneath her into a solid wall, blocking the spell.

With a swipe of her wand, Minerva sends shards of transfigured stone with Piertotum Locomotor, advancing toward Yowie. He deflects them with Protego, but Minerva presses on with a barrage of transfigured projectiles keeping Yowie on the defensive foot.

With a swift flick of his wand, he cast Diffindo, aiming to cut through Minerva's defenses. But Minerva was prepared. With a calm demeanor, she countered by transfiguring the ground into a wall, obscuring Yowie's vision and causing his spell to be rebuffed.

Undeterred, Yowie pressed on, casting Bombarda the wall blew into pieces shrapnel flying in all directions he steadily walked forward while following up with Stupefy in quick succession, hoping to catch Minerva off guard.

she remained composed, weaving patterns with her wand as she transfigured the ground beneath Yowie's feet into a series of slippery ice patches. His footing compromised, Yowie stumbled, before transfiguring a wall of his own to block of a quick stunning spell sent from Minerva.

As the duel intensified, Minerva's proficiency in Transfiguration became increasingly apparent. With each flick and swish of her wand, she transformed the environment to her advantage. She used her skills to create openings in Yowie's defenses slowly widdling away his stamina.

She transfigured the very air into a thick mist with Nebulus, making it difficult for Yowie to see his target.

But Yowie was not to be outdone. With a quick incantation of Finite Incantatem, he dispelled Minerva's transfigurations, clearing his path forward. He countered her stone bullets with Wingardium Leviosa, levitating them out of his way, and dispelled the mist with Ventus, creating a clear line of sight.

Minerva's brow furrowed in concentration as she prepared her next move. With a flick of her wand, she transfigured a nearby boulder into a massive, charging rhinoceros with Avis Mutatio. Yowie's eyes widened in alarm as the beast thundered towards him, but he remained calm. With a precise Immobulus, he froze the rhinoceros in its tracks, buying himself precious seconds to formulate a counterattack.

Alas, Minerva transfigured a rhino for a reason it obscured most of his vision while at the same time attacking. So, he was unprepared for when the Rhino was abruptly turned back into a small stone and at the same time chains flung at him wrapping around his legs and arms.

"You got me," Yowie said bitterly

Minerva smirked releasing the chains, "This was fun," she confessed while looking over at the crowd

The students were dumbstruck at the display only broken from their stupor when James started loudly cheering while shouting, "SHE WON BRING ME MY MONEY!" causing Minerva to sigh and rub her forehead in irritation

When the crowd of rowdy students finally subsided Minvera was the one to address them, "As you can see Transfiguration is useful in many ways during a duel, the most useful being able to change the platform to your advantage. My opponent while formidable was not prepared for me to change the platform to suit my needs at any given moment. This all starts from the basics,"

Yowie smiled brightly, "Exactly right, fighting a master of Transfiguration is difficult for various reasons but the most difficult part is simply preparing to overcome any terrain you are thrown at. Professor McGonagall could have easily trapped me in a maze of her own design but I'm sure that would have led to a boring watch,"

Clapping his hands Yowie gestured around him, "Now! You can begin your daily warmups and proceed to practice whatever you desire. Professor Abara, Professor McGonagall, and myself will be around to assist in any way possible,"
