Wolf hunting

*Morpheus pov*

Perhaps leaving Albus and the others to deal with the aftermath on their lonesome wasn't the smartest idea but now that my brother was back I feel more confident leaving Britain. Soon I imagine he will command his soldiers to spread news of the change of leadership.

Once the idea that Voldemort is truly gone roots deeply into everyone's mind the process of peace talks and negotiations would be easy.

My brother! Oh how wonderful it is to know he walks amongst the living once more. I told him repeatedly the Horcrux trap wouldn't work out as he imagined but, much like the rest of my family he is rather stubborn.

The edge of my destination finally reached my eyes, the new Orleans forest isn't the largest forest in England but it was rather remote. The perfect location for a pack, possibly two packs.

Though knowing that a 'god' inhabited the forest gave me a solid reasoning no other creatures prowled the trees.

Which is also why I wasn't entering the forest in a magical way, it would have completely divulged the stealth approach I was going for.

Entering the forest I closed my eyes trying to sense where the 'godly' magic was the strongest. 'Godly' magic has a distinct feel to it, where demons feel dark, angels feel light almost as if it was a Lumos shining directly into your eyes, godly magic has an earthy feel to it, each 'god' feels a little different than the next.

Some have the feel of damp rain, sharp lightning, smoldering flames, or almost bestial. This god? He felt like a mix of both Bestial and flames.

His magic was the strongest deeper into the forest toward the east, so I turned and began my journey deeper into the forest.

Heading west.

*Narrator pov*

Morpheus walked calmly into the eastern part of the forest he walked as if he were counting his steps to the closest location of the magic.

Eventually, he found himself near a cave. It wasn't large by any means but it was big enough to fit at least two fully grown bears. The feel of the 'gods' Magic here was the strongest he felt since entering the forest.

From the shadows of the cave a man slowly lumbered out he was tall and ripped beyond belief his hair was put into a Norse braid, "Morpheus." a growl escaped the creature's lips

Morpheus frowned, "It seems you have me at a disadvantage you know my name but I do not know yours."

The giant man bellowed a laugh that sounded like a barking wolf, "Fenrir." he replied with a bloodthirsty grin

Morpheus chuckled, "What a coincidence Fenrir the werewolf being led by Fenrir the 'god'. I thought you died to be honest." he seemed unbothered facing the giant beast of a man

Fenrir shook his head in amusement, "I'm sure your brother thought so too, tricky mortal." in an instant Fenrir's amusement turned to rage and he lunged transforming into a giant wolf

Fenrir lunged forward, his massive body igniting in a fiery blaze, flames cascading off his fur like molten rivers. Morpheus raised his wand with calculated precision, summoning a torrent of water that met the fire mid-air. Steam exploded into the clearing, obscuring the battleground in a thick, swirling mist.

"Come now, Fenrir," Morpheus said calmly, stepping back into the dense forest. "Don't tell me you're already this eager to end it. The chase is half the fun." His voice carried an almost mocking lilt, daring the beast to follow.

Fenrir's growl rumbled through the mist like an earthquake. "Run if you like, wizard! There's nowhere you can hide that I won't find you."

Morpheus smirked, his steps deliberate as he retreated deeper into the forest. Each movement was measured, leading Fenrir closer to the eastern section where his trap waited. "Hide? Oh no, Fenrir. I'm not hiding. I'm guiding you like a good doggy."

With a snarl, Fenrir charged through the mist, his fiery claws slashing at the air. The ground beneath him scorched and cracked as his flames licked at the trees. Morpheus deflected a fiery swipe with a flick of his wand, conjuring a shimmering barrier of runic symbols that absorbed the impact before shattering into shards of light.

Morpheus pivoted smoothly, casting a volley of crystalline shards that streaked toward Fenrir like arrows. They struck the wolf's flaming hide, sizzling as they melted into harmless water. The beast laughed, a deep, guttural sound. "You'll have to do better than that, Morpheus!"

"Better?" Morpheus mused aloud, sidestepping another pounce with almost lazy grace. "I'm just warming up. You, on the other hand, are burning through your strength quite literally."

Fenrir howled, flames roaring higher as he unleashed a wide arc of fire that swept through the forest, setting trees alight. Morpheus waved his wand, and a powerful gust of wind redirected the blaze, forcing it to spiral harmlessly into the sky.

"This forest will be your tomb, wizard!" Fenrir roared, bounding after Morpheus with relentless fury.

"And yet you're the one running chasing me like a rabid beast," Morpheus replied, his voice calm but edged with subtle amusement.

The battle raged as Morpheus continued to retreat, each spell a precise maneuver to either deflect Fenrir's attacks or steer him closer to the eastern part of the forest. A wave of vines erupted from the ground, tangling around Fenrir's limbs, only to be incinerated in seconds. A burst of light from Morpheus's wand sent a disorienting flash through the trees, momentarily blinding the flaming wolf.

"You fight like a coward!" Fenrir barked, shaking his head clear of the dazzling light.

Morpheus tilted his head as he continued his measured retreat. "Cowardice? No. Strategy. Though I wouldn't expect you to understand the difference."

The forest began to change subtly as they neared the eastern edge. The air grew heavier, charged with ancient magic. The ground beneath their feet hummed faintly, and symbols carved into the bark of nearby trees glowed with soft golden light.

Fenrir noticed the shift and slowed his advance. His amber eyes narrowed as he growled, "What trickery is this?"

Morpheus finally stopped, turning to face the flaming wolf with a faint smile. "Oh, Fenrir. You should have paid more attention to your surroundings. Welcome to the eastern part of the forest."

He tapped his wand lightly on the ground, and the runes around them blazed to life. A complex web of glowing symbols spread across the forest floor, forming a circle that enclosed Fenrir completely.

"You brought me here on purpose," Fenrir snarled, his flames flaring in defiance.

"Of course," Morpheus said, his voice as smooth as silk. "Did you think I'd fight you on your terms? I prefer mine." With a flourish of his wand, the runic trap activated, and chains of pure light shot from the ground, wrapping around Fenrir's legs and snout.

Morpheus erupted into laughter, "Why does your kind refuse to let go of your egos, you could have prevented my leading you here quite easily." he took out a giant clear crystal from his pouch of holding and placed it into the center of a runic array across from the bound Fenrir

Fenrir immediately felt a change in his circumstances and grunted in slight pain, "What are you doing!" he snarled in discomfort as the magic drained from his body and into the crystal

Morpheus shrugged while he took a seat on the forest floor, "Watching a god turn into a corpse."
