Chapter 2: Owner

The hut was situated near the edge of the cliff so he walked carefully on the snowy terrain. The door had no handle and was made of wood. He put his hand on it and shook gently, but it made no sound. This wasn't unusual, however, for he hadn't expected such an old thing to make a sound.

Maybe it has been abandoned centuries ago and forgotten. But still, he pushed the door as hard as he can then suddenly the door lit up, and countless words and runes of some unknown language lit up in different colors until the door automatically opened by itself. Then he suddenly heard an automated voice "WELCOME BACK MASTER....." it says. It sounds a lot like the computer AI at home in our apartment. But how did it get here and why is it calling me master? He then enters the room and he was very surprised to see what's inside. If outside is a lifeless bone-chilling winter then inside is a lush green rainforest full of life.

What is more surprising is the space inside. It at least has a 1km diameter and 10 floors each having countless books. Outside it appears empty and abandoned but inside it contains many things, including a huge garden filled with many varieties of flowers, herbs, and vegetables. There are also some strange types of equipment filled with inscriptions and runes similar to the door and the weird-looking birds.

He walks around in amazement and wonder, seeing various kinds of birds flying over the roof. Some of them are beautiful while others are hideous. They seem to have a strange pattern on their heads. Strange symbols that look like tattoos. But these are quite what interests him, they're what catches his eyes and holds his attention. On top of that, there's also a painting of a very handsome person encased in some sort of special material. He has blonde hair and green eyes that seem to contain tiny runes and symbols that release a very mystical feeling. It captivates him and forces him to approach the painting closer. As he got closer to the painting his reflection on the glass suddenly made him freeze stiffly in his place. He saw a very familiar face identical to the painting in front of him.

"It's me!!"

"What happened to my face?"

He asked aloud, shocked and horrified by what he sees. "I don't understand what's going on!"

But no matter how many times he tries to explain it all, it doesn't make sense either. Why does his face look the same as it does now? 'There is no way that's me because I fully remembered that he had a very long beard and wrinkles all over his face why he died!!'

Then came to a realization and his eyes bulged out of his sockets.

He must have been born again or possessed this body when the original owner died.

Now that he thinks about it, it makes perfect sense. Because when he woke up there was a wound on his chest it must be the reason the original owner died. But because of how fast the wound recovering there are no traces left on his body.

So that means that whoever this was before had already been dead for many years.

That would explain everything. But how did the original owner die? Looking at how fast the way his body heals and having such a magical house there is no way this guy is weak. Yet even when he was strong how did he die and why did no one retrieve him?

He continues to examine all the items in the room. It took him a good hour to get through everything and explore the entire area but he eventually finds something interesting. In the corner stands a tall, imposing statue. It looks ancient yet it is still in great shape despite the time spent being placed here. The stone of the statue's face is covered with intricate designs that depict a very unique-looking creature.

He steps forward to take a better look at it. To his surprise, it opens its eyes, staring back at him with a blank stare.

He stared wide-eyed and frozen, unable to move nor breathe. The beast from before comes to mind, but this isn't it, this is completely different!

His heart was beating so loud, he couldn't hear himself think. But instead of attacking him like the giant beast last time, it bowed to him.

"What are your orders, my lord?" The imposing statue said. Its voice sounds hollow but strangely familiar. He can almost feel it vibrating within his ears.

He looked down at himself, at his body once again.

"Are you saying...this is all mine..?" He questioned the statue unsure of whether it was true. Is that even possible? Has he reincarnated?
