Chapter 27

She seemed engrossed in thinking about some important topics.

Freya head outside and I follow her out.

We spot the huge board and I see my name and room number,

I hurriedly search Freya's name right after and sigh in relief as her room number was different.

'Phew…'

"Tch, useless rules, listen here, even if our rooms are different, I expect you to come quickly to my side as soon as I call out, got it?"

"Yes, milady."

'Why does she sound desperate? It can't be that she is feeling lonely in this new environment. Worry not, you will soon meet your lackeys'

I quickly leave her side and beamed in joy as I finally departed with this woman for some time now.

'Heroine of light, I pray that you keep her busy forever…'

I found my room and enter,

The room was extravagant in my opinion and looked more like an apartment than a room, the room had a kitchen, two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom.

-----------

The world of this novel was pretty much a mix of the Middle Ages with a touch of the modern century.

The bathroom had showers that run on water aura and the kitchen used applications of fire aura and all.

It's been a while since I lived in such a comfortable place.

Each student room was just like this, it was a way academy showed their students how much they value the future assets of the world, we could also be counted in the top few percent of the world in terms of talent so it was obvious academy would do its best as well.

'Now then, who will be my roommate, I wonder….'

Some time passed and the door to my room creaked open as my roommate walked in.

I got up from my bed inside the room I took, I had been arranging my belongings and was just laying down on the bed when I heard the door.

I thought that I should make a good first impression on my roommate who could also possibly be my future companion and friend.

I went to the living room only to see more than 1 person there standing looking at me.

'Ah, my fucked up luck…. Haha, how could I forget about my shitty luck…. I feel like crying right now.'

There they were, the elven crown princess along with her followers standing staring at me.

Most of her followers quickly made an expression of disgust seeing me as they must have quickly figured out my race.

Actually, she had four servants, two boys, and two girls.

All of them were elves…

"Tsk! How could it be a half-demon, this is clearly a show of disrespect towards the princess!"

One of the guys said out aloud.

Leaving one girl with the princess, the three of them surrounded me quickly to intimidate me probably.

"Hey, listen up, you halfling, you clearly do not deserve to be paired with someone as noble as the princess, I think even you know this, so let me get this straight, leave the academy this instant or face the consequences."

Woah, does this guy even have a brain?

I wondered while ignoring the guy completely.

The girl among the three seemed quite bold as she grabbed my collar and said,

"Look, you can either quietly leave the premises or I can beat it into you the painful way if you will prefer."

Is this the common trope of every novel? I remember it was not a cultivation novel…hmm…

I was about to freeze her hand entirely when the princess spoke up

"Let her go this instant."

She spoke in a heavy voice and almost immediately they backed away.

With fear in their eyes, they tried to persuade the princess.

"Princess! It's clearly a stain to Royal blood if you share a room with someone like this lowlife!"

"Enough! I have been seeing you disrespecting her the whole time, are you this ill-mannered, you are belittling our race as a whole, being someone who might represent elves in the future, you guys are tarnishing my name and honor."

All of them became quiet and could not refute her words.

"I don't want to hear any word against her from your mouth again. Now leave!"

All of them were reluctant but could not go against the princess being her subordinates.

As they were leaving, the elf boy glanced at me for the last time and I gave the most conceding smirk I could.

The boy widened his eyes and his face flushed red in anger and frustration.

He quickly left afterward.

Now only I and the elf princess were in the room as she faced me properly.

She bowed her head a little and said,

"I once again apologize for my subordinate's rude behavior. I will make sure that nothing similar ever happens. So, I request of you to please forgive them…"

"Ah, it's fine, I am used to hearing such things haha…"

I told her normally but there seemed to be pity in her eyes.

'Damn, is she pitying me?'

"Don't make such a face, it does not affect me as long as the other side is not getting physical."

I told her straight.

She sighed and spoke

"All right, if you say so, let us introduce ourselves considering we will be spending a lot of time together from now on, I would love to know about my roommate!"

Her tone contained a hint of excitement as she spoke, being a princess and a crown princess at that had severely limited her interactions to mostly adults,

If she would ever be allowed to interact with someone her age, it would always be professional like meeting with the daughter of an important noble's daughter and making connections.

So, she never experienced what true friendship was like.

One of the major reasons she was willing to attend the academy was so she could make some good friends with whom she could share her problems, and secrets, talk with them about themselves, and get to know others.
