PROLOGUE

"Hey Noel," he waved from across the basketball pitch. In the white Jersey I gifted him on his last birthday, he ran towards me in a jiffy and In his hand, was a water bottle.

Now close to me, he said, "Have a sip."

"Thanks," I smiled.

"Practice must have been tedious. I saw your tired looking face from across the pitch."

I chuckled with my hand across my face, "Don't be too exaggerating. But it's not a lie, cheerleading is a tedious work," with my face free from my hand, I said with a smile, "Y'all are lucky to have us."

"And we are happy to have you," he bows in a princely gesture but but soon laughs if off.

"You still going for the concert, right?" He asked. We had purchased tickets to a rock band concert last week and they were performing this evening.

"Yeah, if you're going," I replied.

"On that note, see you by seven," he kissed my hand goodbye, leaving my cheeks red.
