In the Archangel lobby, all staff, lockers and visitors were being searched. No mention was made of what they were searching for. Roger didn’t need that information getting out if it didn’t need to. He was pacing in front of the memorial wall as he waited for their equipment to be found. If that got out into the wrong hands, Roger thought. Josephine Leosa, an African-American woman, Derek and three other well trusted solder looking men came up and saluted Roger “Did you find it?” he asked, not bothering to salute back “No sir, we searched everyone.” A young man suddenly appeared before them, all of them got startled “Damn it Cody, what have I told you about doing that?” Roger scowled “Sorry sir.” Cody had the power to turn invisible and always forgot to become visible before standing beside people. “We searched everywhere but no sign of the elixir or the thief. Sir.” Cody said. “Who was on door duty?” Derek escorted Roger to a pair of men “Did you see anyone leave?” Roger asked “We only started our shift a half hour ago sir.” One of them claimed. “You started two hours ago.” Roger corrected “Which means our thief also stole a memory wiper and got away. Find out who’s missing. NOW!” The guards, Derek, Cody and the rest scrambled. “Sir, we need to let the others know about the theft now.” Josephine stated. Roger sighed, he knew she was right but this was still going to look very bad. “How the hell could this happen?” he asked, Josephine wished she had an answer. She wished she could track the culprit down but they still needed to know who was behind it. “We obviously need better security measures.” Roger said as he returned to his office. A woman in a cloak was waiting for him, her old face hidden from view. “Tell me you know who stole our samples.” He asked her. Her eyes started to glow and she waved her hands “I see a balding man with glasses, a lab coat with a coffee stain.” “I need a name, please.” He said “I see money being exchanged. A war. Fire.” Roger took a seat at his desk and waited, tapping his finger on his desk impatiently. “I see a solder. Someone you know. Someone you trained.” She said. “What?” Roger said, “l’ve trained many. The only one who knows we exist is Derek. He’s one of us. I trust him.” The seer waved her hands more “Not him. Another. Our thief met him.” She said “But who is he? Where are they now?” Roger slammed the desk. Derek knocked at the door, the old woman stopped what she was doing. “John and Peter are here sir.” Derek said “Tell them to wait outside my office, I’m busy. Continue.” He told the seer as Derek left Josephine entered with a file, she placed it on the desk “Norman Cludd.” She said. Roger opened the file and showed it to the seer “Is this the guy you see?” she looked at the photo “Yes.” “Excellent. Get everyone out there, find him.” Josephine started to leave “Oh and.” Roger said, she stopped “Send those buffoons in.”
John and Peter stood at the door to Roger Kennedy’s office, he was clearly not impressed. On his screen was a video that their team was able to stop from getting out to the world. It showed the light show, it also showed the slaughter before the two men got there. Roger glared at them, both were sober as heck now. “Good job bringing down this man.” Roger said but before they could feel relief “That being said, you two got very lucky that the police believed you were using some type of weapon. But there were a lot of witnesses there who might have noticed your hands were empty the whole time. You were reckless and stupid. You could have risked our operation here.” “Uhhh.” Johnny started, Roger gave him a look as if saying this better be good “You’re not going to…fire us or something? Are you?” Roger looked at them and waited, let them squirm a bit “You know I can’t do that. It’s not like we can take your powers away once you have them.” The two started to relax just a bit “But you’re both on probation for three weeks. No missions. You’ll be on clean up duty at most.” “Aw, come on.” Johnny said. Roger glared and they both left in a rush. Now came the part that was less fun, explaining the situation to all the other branches. He knew there was nothing any of them could do about it, this was his problem. But they still needed to know this problem was out there.
In Northern France Elrik Van Helsing, late eighties, was in a tense negotiations with Piator Le Shan, Albert Wallace and Helen Yashiankovic. Leaders of werewolf clans. They were slightly easier to deal with than the vampires. Many of them would even be considered “good guys” since they more often killed criminals, other creatures, especially vampires and others they considered threats to a peaceful way of life or who took advantage of their power. “You know we are holding off our war with the vampires.” Helen said in a thick Russian accent “So why do you come to us? You are not welcome here, wolf killer.” “You know I only kill the bad ones.” Elrik said “I am here to help. We can get rid of our common enemy, or at least the more powerful vampires. Also...one of your underlings killed a man. A doctor.” The three looked at each other “So you wish for us to give you this killer, our own kind, in exchange for what?” Piator asked in a French accent “We already told you we are at peace. Do not make us start up the war again. Shiako will eliminate us if we go near his territory.” “I know Lakshmi is hiding with him, which is part of the problem.” Lakshmi was the second highest ranked and oldest vampire “They seek an alliance which none of us can allow.” Elrik said. “This victim was a doctor you say?” Albert asked “Yes.” Elrik said. The three conferred with each other “We still cannot make a hasty move against the magic users.” Helen said “But we will send a well-trained scout to collaborate your claim.” “You know that if this is true Lakshmi is going against the count as well?” Piator asked, the count was indeed the famous count Dracula, he did not enjoy most of the movie about him. “Exactly, if it’s true, the count will go after him for us.” Elrik said “The one you accuse will face trial. Speak his name and then leave.” Helen said “Tyago Smirnoff.” He said, bowed and left.
Back in Washington. The police are not suppressed to see the cell of Muhammad Jubi Lowell, the super strong man arrested earlier, empty. The bars were bent and a crude face with the tongue sticking out was carved into the wall, possibly by hand. They were waiting for equipment from B.R.A.I.N. tech in Dardon to arrive, it was supposed to turn his powers off. Problem was, he needed to be wearing it. At least they had the devise for whenever they managed to catch him again.
