Keep trying

Keep trying was the actual word for this game.... I kept on trying hoping for the best.

My brother and I got to the field earlier than usual so I had some time to roam about.

"Dave, "I called. "Would you tell me some things about your teammates? "

"Why?, and what did you want to know about them? "

Seeing a sign of dismissal on his face, I subdued my own rising temper and tried answering in a calm voice.

"Nothing, just want to know so I wouldn't be kept in the dark when you're talking about them ". I think that got him going.

"Okay..... "He said, "the guy with a thick dark hair is Carlton, he's our keeper and plays well too. That one that always wear a red snickers is Brett, the tall guy over there putting on a Chelsea jersey is mikel and the last but not the least is Leo. "

"He's my man, very skillful in dribbling and you know what?, he's having feelings for someone am not to sure about".

At the mention of Leo, my heart did a little flip flop.... Wait, he's having a feelings for someone, that stung a little but I was determine to know who, so I pressed my brother on.

"Wow, that really interesting, did you know who? "I asked not displaying any emotions.

"Oh here comes the person we we're taking about ". I turned my head sharply towards the direction and our eyes met and held for a moment before my brother said....

"I don't know sis believe me ".

I turned my head again to my brother and look at him confusingly because I didn't hear what he said.

"See ya later little sis, I've got to go now ". he said jogging towards the field with Leo.

"What your sister's name? "

"Desiree, why ask"

"Nothing"

I could not believe Leo had feelings for someone. for a split second I imagined I was the one then I chastise self for thinking so.

"Maybe he had gotten himself someone he likes not me "I thought aloud as I walked towards the gate to get a bottle of soft drinks for Dave and I.

"Desiree ".

I turn on hearing my name, averting my eyes with my hand, I saw clearly who it was.

"Hey good day". I said smiling "nice playing you know ".

He nodded his head but returned the smile anyway.

"Thanks alot ".

Not knowing what else to say or do, I returned awkwardly to what I was doing.

I finished with what my buying, surprised to see he was still there. I confusely ask him....

"A..... Are you not going back inside because am going in now ". I was not certain of his answer.

"Yep, I was actually going in when I saw you here -we can walk inside together... Huh? "

"Uh, yeah... yeah". I could not help but smile within me.

When I dared to steal a glance at him our eyes met and I blushed for a split seconds.

"So..... he's finally opening up". I thought as we entered inside.
