CHAPTER 18

It was late midnight and everywhere was murky and quiet but Miriam had been standing at the kitchen counter clenching her stomach while struggling to hold her sobs for Ten minutes now. She picked up the knife on the counter before glaring at her midsection.

She knew that she had nothing to lose, her perspective about the world had been lost ever since Christain chose to abandon her. Miriam wondered what her life would have been like if she hadn't been kidnapped that night? A fresh tear trickled down her cheeks trailing close to her lips.

Miriam gripped the knife tightly as she shakily leaned against the counter. Her eyes blinked as she tried to stifle her gasp.

"If you wanted to die, you could have done it somewhere secretive." The voice of Carlos echoed in her head, she dropped the knife before trudging towards the liquid detergent placed to wash the dirty dishes.
