CHAPTER 37

It was late evening and the thunder was bringing in lightning and making loud noises. Soon enough, it began to rain heavily. Miriam had trudged to her son's room to check if his windows were closed but became shaken when she saw him sobbing and scattering pieces of papers all over the floor.

"Henry, what's wrong?" Miriam asked all caring as she sat beside her son.

"Why are you doing this mummy? I thought you said you loved my uncle Carlos? He said to me that he wants to be our family but you seem to be pushing him away, why don't you like him anymore?" He asked in a weep and cracked voice while his collarbones kept popping up.

Miriam's hands slowly caressed her son's shoulder.

"Henry, I know how much you love him and I know how much it hurts so much but we need to avoid him now!" Miriam said yet again.

"Why, don't you love him anymore? How come he loves you very much?" Henry asked with red and swollen eyes.
