Shame

Do to others as you want them to do to you...

BODIE

I detest these school halls. All their envious faces and fake laughter. They're all phonies in their own little ways.

Was there anyone who hated middle school more than me? Probably not. One more term and I'll be in high school, can't wait.

I wonder how Lex is doing in his new class. I had told him some vital things he needed to know about fitting in, in just three simple sentences.

Vital rule one# if they ask you stupid stuff ignore them or shut the hell up.

If you give the wrong answer you will become suspicious and if you have no idea what they're asking you, you'll also become suspicious.

Vital rule two# Do not and I repeat, do not go around yapping about your dead planet.

Why? No one cares, they're too preoccupied with their own lives to believe the shit you're saying. Also, they might think you're being delusional and you're just some nerd who's obsessed with comics or something.

Vital rule three# Bruh, no matter what, do not attempt to sink your teeth into anyone's neck.

No alternative sources of blood apart from the one I give you. Don't even ask for their blood politely. Why? They'll figure out what you are faster than you can say bloody hell.

I adjusted his backpack as I walked through the busy halls to my classroom. I stepped in and apparently, no one noticed me because of the huge maths assignment the teacher gave on Friday. Everyone had forgotten to do it and those that did weren't sure of their answers.

Being the top scorer, students would normally flock around me begging to copy my assignment but I had done a good job in crafting this wall that made me unapproachable.

"Hey, Bodie."

Celeste walked up to me waving.

This girl...

I pretended to be chill about her having the audacity to greet me when everyone else was avoiding me on purpose.

"Hi, Celeste."

I smiled back with closed eyes.

What did she want? My assignment? Is she that desperate or just too dumb to notice that no one else asked me for it? Probably the latter.

"You're dressed... like new money today, hahahahaha!"

She said loudly and beamed.

Her announcement made quite a few students busy copying the answers raise their heads in my direction and paying regard to my outfit.

What the hell? So she didn't come for my assignment but for this useless reason? Don't get confused, my school has a uniform. One for normal weekdays and one for Mondays and Fridays when we have an assembly.

I was wearing the correct one, the problem is the cardigan I was wearing on top of the shirt. It was a limited edition of a designer brand.

I glared at her as everyone soon continued with their assignment. New money...? Of course. Although this is an elite school, I'm the richest one here. But why is she so stupid to approach me and then announce something that everyone already knows?

Was she trying to embarrass me? You know, I can make careless people like you who say anything they want, disappear without a trace, right? She is so naive but I will not take this one while standing.

The second you make a joke out of my success you deserve to die. And there are several ways to kill someone, but the easiest way is to make them die of shame.

"Hahaha, I guess I do look cool today."

Well, two can play this game.

"Yeah and expensive too."

She added.

"I actually got this sweater as a gift you see."

And now to finish you off...

"O-Oh..."

She stuttered and rubbed the back of her neck. What, you're surprised? Ha, I'm not even done yet.

"Mhm, I've been donating new shoes to all the kids at that orphanage down the street every year and the owner gave me this as a thank-you gift."

I smiled broadly.

Lying through my teeth was a skill. Of course, I actually donated to that orphanage but they're too poor to give me anything this expensive.

Colour rushed into Celeste's face and she gasped.

What a sight indeed. Try saying something rude to me next time and I'll hurt you with something more painful than words, bitch.

She apologized and scurried back to her seat.

You started this, you should expect that I would retaliate you fool. And I had to do so immediately, if I don't get revenge I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

I just can't stand envious people.

I walked over to my seat and brought out my notebook for the first period. I wonder what Lex would do if he ran into someone as cumbersome as Celeste. He would probably get humiliated, right? It's hard to say, especially since I haven't had proper time to measure his intelligence.

But there's no rush, I'll have time to properly educate him on how to survive here while experimenting on him too.

However you think about it, it's still a win-win for me.

Or so I thought...

Seppi and his crew walked into the cafeteria. They stopped at my table and sat down.

What do these fuckers want this time? I thought my little lesson last time was enough to get rid of them.

"Yo, bitch Bodie. Why the fuck was my house burgled on Friday?"
